My little boy has been in daycare 2 weeks (3 days per week) including his settling in sessions. The other day when I picked him up, the manager mentioned to me that they’ve noticed he tends to point/push buttons with his middle finger as opposed to his index finger and he finger flicks and turns his wrists when he’s excited/frustrated. I have noticed both these things as he’s done them for a long time and mentioned the wrist/finger movements to the HV when he was 9 months but she said it was nothing to worry about at that point. He’ll be due a visit from her soon so I’m of course going to bring it up again, but I know she’s just going to tell me to keep an eye on it as there’s nothing that can really be done at this stage.
I think I’m just wondering what everyone else’s take on this is. I’m a little annoyed at the daycare for bringing it up after spending such little time with my boy. I have experience with autism in my family so would be the first to take action if I thought there was something to worry about but it seems quite alarmist to flag concerns after such little time spent with him. He’s still settling and is upset in the daycare so I know he’s not yet showing his capabilities but he’s meeting every milestone and is incredibly social. I’m also aware he’s still so young. I feel like the daycare should have observed him over a few months and then spoken to me if they were concerned.
Also, does anyone else’s little one do these things and are you worried at all?

That’s absolutely insane that they’ve flagged that as a concern. Our babies are only 12/13 months at this point and whilst autistic traits can show at this point, most normal baby behaviour is very similar to autism. I didn’t realise the pointing with middle finger would even be a concern. My son does this, most of the time he does things with his middle finger but my husband does this too as an adult that very much does not have autism. My son also flaps when he’s happy/excited. It’s very normal for kids at this point to do these things and working in childcare they should be very aware of that. I would understand if he was older and they discussed it but at this point it’s not a concern and literally nothing that could be done with it as they’re so little. I’m sorry you’ve had this x
I’ve returned to work and my breast fed baby girl will NOT take to any bottle. I have tried so many. Any suggestions?

Is mounjaro allowed to be taken whilst breastfeeding? I’m not on it yet, but considering it as it’s the only thing that helps me lose some weight due to my health conditions.

Hi mums, I’m 10 weeks postpartum and feeling so burnt out. My baby doesn't latch, so I’ve been pumping and mixed feeding. Pumping is exhausting me, and I’m really thinking about quitting.
Because I work in healthcare, the guilt is hitting me hard and I keep overthinking the benefits of breast milk. But my mental and physical health are slipping.
Would love to hear from moms whose babies are 100% formula-fed. Please tell me your formula babies are thriving and that you got your sanity back! Need some reassurance today. 🙏

We’ve officially stopped feeding during the day, going on a month now. But night time feeds😭 I’m so over it. How do I stop? It’s so easy to just keep doing it. We co-sleep so I usually just stuff boob in her mouth when shes fussing at night but I can’t do that anymore. And she’s going to war over not having boob, what helps? How can I get her to soothe better without it and find comfort in other things?

My little one is 5 weeks old and does not wind!! No matter what I do. I try for like 15 minutes and he doesn’t bring anything up, I tend to keep him lying on me after feeding if I can’t wind him and he’s normally ok. There’s been the odd occasion he’s spat up when I’ve led him down but it’s very rare. What is the consequences if he is not burped? It’s stressing me out because surely he has something to bring up and don’t want him being uncomfortable 🙈

Anyone else’s baby sleep all day and then have mega long wake windows like 5pm onwards?🤣
She’s one month old and I swear she stays awake no longer than 20ish minutes in the day wake windows but as soon as 4/5pm hits she’s awake for hours with small naps in-between! Then from midnight onwards she goes back to sleeping loads😴
