Mounjaro

Is mounjaro allowed to be taken whilst breastfeeding? I’m not on it yet, but considering it as it’s the only thing that helps me lose some weight due to my health conditions.

My advice is do some research, it was previously advised against but that changed and it can be considered following advise from your GP. The study conducted showed the medication was very low or undetectable in breast milk, but its on a case by case assessment

Not whilst breastfeeding. I started the week I stopped.

It’s not tested on breastfeeding mothers and infants due to ethics so there’s little data at all if it’s safe for baby.

Even if its considered potentially safe, there isnt enough research into it. And why would you put your babies health at risk to lose weight? Once you stop breastfeeding then start it to lose the weight bur please dont risk your babies health xx

Thanks ladies,

I just wasn’t sure whether it was allowed or not. And I wouldn’t use it whilst I breastfeeding if I wasn’t sure if it was safe to take or not.

Unfortunately I have to lose weight due to my health conditions otherwise my health gets worse. I will start once I stop breastfeeding.

Thank you for your advice!

MIL keeps planning to have a sleepover with my EBF 6 month old

She’s too pushy and I’ve said no endless times. It’ll be very stressful for him. I don’t pump because I don’t like it and my baby doesn’t like bottles. I’m currently trying to break nurse-sleep association. It doesn’t make any sense to attempt a sleepover because it’ll be just stressful for baby and I. I just can’t be asked to keep saying NO. It’s almost harassment. I said it’ll eventually happen once I’m back to work, not while I’m in mat leave as I don’t want to be away from my son yet. How can I approach this in a friendly way? She’s just too much sometimes and I’ve been very friendly and open about the idea, but not about the timing.

When to stop sterilising?

My baby girl is 3 months and already so curious, grabbing things she shouldn’t, touching things that are a bit dirtier than I would like eg the floor and the rugs lol. Then she puts her hands straight in her mouth. I plan to keep sterilising her bottles etc for a while.

But curious when to stop, because at some point they are digesting bacteria anyways? Or is it still important to sterilise up until 1 year because of milk bacteria etc?
