She’s too pushy and I’ve said no endless times. It’ll be very stressful for him. I don’t pump because I don’t like it and my baby doesn’t like bottles. I’m currently trying to break nurse-sleep association. It doesn’t make any sense to attempt a sleepover because it’ll be just stressful for baby and I. I just can’t be asked to keep saying NO. It’s almost harassment. I said it’ll eventually happen once I’m back to work, not while I’m in mat leave as I don’t want to be away from my son yet. How can I approach this in a friendly way? She’s just too much sometimes and I’ve been very friendly and open about the idea, but not about the timing.

hey 👋 some people, especially older generation, dont know the difference between simple no. they start to katch on when u become harsh, I know trust me, how hard this is for us mom to go against someone we care for X but u job is bonding with baby and ask ur husband to stand up for u by setting boundaries.

Hey, I'm so sorry you have to deal with this.
1. This is your partner's problem and THEIR job to deal with their own mother.
2. My mum is still harassing me about this 9 months on. I've said no and listed my reasons pfffffft surely it must be over 100 times by now. This started in my second trimester, mind you. Let them keep asking. The answer will not change. 💪
Stay strong and soak up every second with your little angel!

because later on she will not hear No from ur baby too!

they been broght up in harsh world! being kind, they dont see it how important ur words are! they just dont hear ur words kindly they because no one is angry! ur not their parent shouting at them to put then in survival ! I hope that makes sense!

6 months is far too young in my opinion! Just say no, like once you start feeding normal food and trying allergens it’s very important baby stays with you so you can notice any reactions that someone else mightn’t notice xx

Ah this is harsh luckily my MIL is super chill about this kind of stuff. But with my own mum I have already told her no kissing the baby especially as she suffers from coldsores and I've had pretty good and solid boundaries with her the last few years. I think you need to look her in the eye and say 'it's not going to happen, I understand you would like it to but I'm saying no' don't even feel the need to explain. But if you do just say "you are pushing our relationship beyond what is acceptable I've said no many times and you're showing you obviously don't have any respect for me as you are ignoring this"...and do this with your partner present as she needs to see him stand with you on this. Look you may choose to go a different way but honestly the best relationships I have are with people I am brutally honest and clear with.

This is for your husband to handle! You and your husband need to agree on boundaries with parents and for him to go to her and push back and handle those difficult conversations with her. And he needs to tell you BOTH don't want to have sleepovers yet not that is a you decision. So use language like " mum we have decided this won't happen for now"
It is in everyone's best interests that that's how the relationship are handled imo.
Like they might hate the answer but they won't be mad at their own son as much. However if it comes from you is more likely for them to cause long term issues.
My LG (2.5) has always been a great sleeper. She still naps during the day, usually for anywhere between 1.5–3 hours, but lately she’s been fighting her naps and they’re getting later and later. But when shes gone, shes sparko!
We’ve had a few days recently where she hasn’t napped at all, and if she’s kept busy, she gets delirious by the end of the day before sleeping from 7pm–6am.
However, if we’re having a quieter day at home or I can’t get out, she might finally nap from 1–3pm. I try not to let her nap that late because it pushes bedtime back to around 10pm, but I also don’t want to keep her awake when she’s clearly exhausted, whinging and in need of sleep.
Does anyone have any tips for gently waking a toddler from a nap so they don’t sleep for so long? Or is it time to drop naps altogether? Alternatively, how can I get her back into the routine of napping from 12–2pm like she used to?
I know she obviously still needs the sleep, but our days are now starting at 5am, and I’m struggling to work out what’s best for her. I'm also aware the clocks go back soon which will fuck me even more. Shes up from 5/6am. She has so much energy and we play from the moment she opens her eyes till bedtime.
For context, I also have a 6-month-old who sleeps amazingly from 8pm–7am. This then means I sort my toddler out and have to wait upstairs until my baby wakes up as transporting her downstairs will wake her unnaturally.

Moms that travel; I’m taking my 1 y/o (21months ) on her first trip tomorrow . I’m dreading taking her car seat . What do you normally do if you don’t travel w/ your car seat ? Can you request a driver with one on ride share apps ?

What’s everyone getting for their newborn to sleep in, I’m torn whether to get a love to dream swaddle.. are they good?

1) how much sleep are you averaging at the moment? (I’m 3 weeks PP currently and baby is feeding every 3 hours, so getting 3 hours max of uninterrupted sleep)
2) are your babies really noisy and wriggly after night feeds but absolutely fine in the day?! If so, any tips please 🙏
3) following on from above really, how long does each feed take? Mine is up from about 1.5 hours from each feed so it’s sooo exhausting as she just won’t settled afterwards and is really wriggly/nosiy
Just wondering if I’m doing something wrong as I’m so tired and if the feeds were a bit quicker at night/could get her back down quicker it’d be so much better then I could actually sleep!
Thanks so much 🥰

I am breastfeeding my baby and do pumped milk/ formula whenever it is absolutely required. Baby is 6.5 months old but she wakes up 5-6 times during night. Many of my friends said they will wake up less frequently once they're past 6 months. I have started solids as well in the morning.
Is it because of breastfeeding?
Should I just give formula before bed?
