3 questions mamas!

1) how much sleep are you averaging at the moment? (I’m 3 weeks PP currently and baby is feeding every 3 hours, so getting 3 hours max of uninterrupted sleep)

2) are your babies really noisy and wriggly after night feeds but absolutely fine in the day?! If so, any tips please 🙏

3) following on from above really, how long does each feed take? Mine is up from about 1.5 hours from each feed so it’s sooo exhausting as she just won’t settled afterwards and is really wriggly/nosiy

Just wondering if I’m doing something wrong as I’m so tired and if the feeds were a bit quicker at night/could get her back down quicker it’d be so much better then I could actually sleep!

Thanks so much 🥰

I found a trick to feed her more frequently during the daytime every 2 hours. Lesser amounts. Walk her early morning for fresh air. And bathe her before bed.
So during the night time she wakes up every 3-4 hours. That extra 1 -2 hrs are life changing 🙌

This sounds very similar to my little boy. He's nearly 3 weeks. We struggle to burp him, we also think he has a bit of reflux so I'm too scared to lie him down too soon after a feed. He wriggles and arches like crazy sometimes and its really upsetting. On a good feed it takes about 20 mins to feed him but then maybe another 10-15 to burp/settle and then I have to keep him upright for another 15-20 mins. A bad feed we can be up 1.5 hours too. I'm hoping this is just the early days whilst his digestive system matures.

I’m averaging about 5 hours sleep total a night. Need to learn to go to bed earlier 🙈 Baby tends to do a longer stretch at the start of the night, about 4 hours from 10/11pm until 2/3am then after that he wakes every 2 hours for a feed after that. Nappy change and feed takes about 30 mins as he falls back to sleep on the boob x

Im getting about 4-5 hours total per night, usually the longest stretch is 2 hours, occasionally 3 if the timings work out for my husband to do a bottle so I dont have to do that feed.

The night time noises and wriggles are so normal but soo annoying lol we are the exact same, dont worry

Traveling by car

FTM to a one month old and we want to travel to visit family so they can meet the baby. The drive is only 4 hours away but online keeps saying to take breaks etc because its dangerous to have the baby in a car seat for more than 2 hours at a time. Anyone been thru something similar? And what did you do?

Tips for selling baby and maternity items?

I have lots of baby items (next to me, baby prep machine, monitor- all never used) to sell – what’s the best way to go about it? Any favourite platforms, tips for quick sales, or things I should avoid? Would love to hear your experiences!

Sleep

My LG (2.5) has always been a great sleeper. She still naps during the day, usually for anywhere between 1.5–3 hours, but lately she’s been fighting her naps and they’re getting later and later. But when shes gone, shes sparko!

We’ve had a few days recently where she hasn’t napped at all, and if she’s kept busy, she gets delirious by the end of the day before sleeping from 7pm–6am.

However, if we’re having a quieter day at home or I can’t get out, she might finally nap from 1–3pm. I try not to let her nap that late because it pushes bedtime back to around 10pm, but I also don’t want to keep her awake when she’s clearly exhausted, whinging and in need of sleep.

Does anyone have any tips for gently waking a toddler from a nap so they don’t sleep for so long? Or is it time to drop naps altogether? Alternatively, how can I get her back into the routine of napping from 12–2pm like she used to?

I know she obviously still needs the sleep, but our days are now starting at 5am, and I’m struggling to work out what’s best for her. I'm also aware the clocks go back soon which will fuck me even more. Shes up from 5/6am. She has so much energy and we play from the moment she opens her eyes till bedtime.

For context, I also have a 6-month-old who sleeps amazingly from 8pm–7am. This then means I sort my toddler out and have to wait upstairs until my baby wakes up as transporting her downstairs will wake her unnaturally.

Sleep question

For those whose babies are “sleeping through” or has a good 4/5 stretch of sleep through the night, does you baby have a dummy?
