Traveling by car

FTM to a one month old and we want to travel to visit family so they can meet the baby. The drive is only 4 hours away but online keeps saying to take breaks etc because its dangerous to have the baby in a car seat for more than 2 hours at a time. Anyone been thru something similar? And what did you do?

I had set spots picked along the route where we’d walk around for about 10 minutes, change the diaper, nurse and burp, and then pop her back in her car seat every two hours. It adds about 30 minutes per stop, but I found it easier than when I just waited for her cue that it was time to feed and then she’d get really worked up and there weren’t great places to stop.

We just stopped for lunch and ate inside for a hour. (: I have to pump and feed baby anyways! So we just stopped for a bit

me and my husband had a 22 hour drive when she was 1 month. we split it up in 2 days, so both days were 11 hours, we didn’t want to stop unless we needed to pee or was hungry so i kept her in my arms majority of the time but for those 2 days we were driving she started hating her car seat and would scream so i really kept her in my arms the second drive. but if your kid is okay with the car seat then obviously take them out hold. do what you need to do and then put them back

I travel 2 days ago with my 1 and a half month old but only for 2 hrs. A bottle of milk helped a lot and we started the ride when she was almost asleep.. when we came back I offered her 5oz which she usually eat when I pump and she slept the whole time. But it was only 2hrs. Hope this helps as a reference :)

Personally, I wouldn't do it. I'd wait another few weeks or ask your family to come to you instead. Those intervals are set for a reason so I'd follow them especially during this time😅

Inconsolable crying baby

Hi all, my baby is almost 6 weeks and in the past few days have been a real struggle as I breastfeed him, he temporarily falls asleep on me than suddenly wake up and cries non stop. No hunger or cold/warm temp or gassiness involved I believe - I tried also putting them in any position (on me as well), but nothing really works.
Quite sleep deprived therefore - both of us.

Anyone having something similar at month 2? How did you deal with it?

Any suggestion is welcome 🫶🏻

10 month old starting tantrums?

So my recently turned 10 month old has just started throwing his head back and making his body rigid when he’s not happy about something - like being put in his play pen, being taken for a nappy change/ nap etc. I’m worried of him doing it and hitting his head hard or worse being dropped (he is very big and heavy) - there has been a few near misses already.

He has also bitten me a few times in the last month (he’s got opposing teeth so really hurts) - luckily that seems to be lessening.

Just wondering if others are/ did have similar experience with their LB? Is it normal to start tantrum type behaviour at this age? And if so how do you react to it?

2 year old waking up at night

If your toddler 2 years wakes up at night and you know it’s a regression and they’re not crying just making whining noises and other sounds would you go into his/her room or just wait for them to fall asleep again even if it takes up to an hour?

Almost 5 months postpartum and feel terrible about myself

I just needed to rant and get this out.

I’m 5 months postpartum on the 21st and I have never felt so uncomfortable in my own skin. I look in the mirror and barely recognise myself.

I’ve tried different things, I’ve changed my hair, try doing my makeup, bought new clothes and it all seems to make me feel worse.

And the weird thing is, it’s not my c section scar or my stretch marks that are actually bothering me, I can admire they gave me my beautiful son. It’s literally EVERYTHING else about myself I just hate looking at myself in the mirror!

I don’t think it helps that I feel so lonely, I don’t feel like many people understand what I went through with my labour and what I’m going through MH wise now and just think I’m being ignorant but I physically don’t have the mental capacity to message people everyday and be in constant conversation but yet I crave human interaction and friends.

Does everyone feel this way at first and when does it go away?

BF to Formula

Has anyone made a switch overnight rather than a gradual change? If so how did your baby react. My baby girl is 3 months and I’m planning to switch. She’s exclusively bottle fed.
