Hi!
For those of you who’ve switched to cow’s milk, can you share how you’re giving it if not in a bottle? I keep seeing that the general recommendation is to use an open cup, but how does that actually work for babies who are fed to sleep? My son falls asleep in bed drinking his milk from a bottle (sometimes he finishes it and still wants us to rock him a bit). I just can’t picture how this would work with an open cup.
Would love to hear what others have done!

I’m still giving bottles and don’t plan to stop for a while. We still feed him to sleep and he relies on it quite heavily for comfort. He is also going through a stage of waking anytime between 4-6 in the morning and he’s still knackered but hungry so I give him his morning milk and he goes back off to sleep again, I can’t imagine he’d go back to sleep if I gave him milk in an open cup and in no way am I waking up at 4am 😭😂 I will probably lean away from bottles when he starts sleeping a little better!

We are still doing bottles as well. We are in 2 milk feeds still (morning and bedtime) so find bottles just work best for that still. I think once he drops to one milk feed then will look at other options but for now it’s working for us x

With my first we didn’t phase out the bottle will he was around 2years old and I don’t plan to do anything for while with my youngest either as he’s still waking in the night and dependent on his bottle during the day for settling down for sleep.

Also still using a bottle. Used this until after 2 with my first so i plan on doing the same this time x

They say open cup is best but I continued to give my eldest a bottle for as long as he wanted it before bed. It brought him so much comfort so I didn’t want to take that off him. He naturally just weaned himself onto a sippy cup.
As long as baby is having practice with using an open sippy cup during the day, then I think keeping the bottle for comfort before bed is perfectly fine. The only reason they say not give it directly before bed is so you can brush teeth after the milk so the sugars don’t sit on the teeth over night x

we are still doing bottles too, HV said not to switch it it would affect his comfort especially at nighttime x
Breastfed since one month old. Born (4lbs 11oz) At her two month check with my midwives they said she was doing really well with weight gain (6lbs 5oz). Now at 3 months we went to our family doctor and she is at 7lbs 6.4oz.
My doctor is concerned about weight gain but also said she’s doing great with holding her head, being attentive, etc. Dr. Said I should give formula
But what I don’t understand is my daughter always seems satisfied with feeding and doesn’t cry or fuss after. Anyone have a similar situation?

Hi! I was j wondering when everyone is starting sleep training and how they are doing it? My 3mo wakes up once of a night at around 3/4am after being asleep since 10pm, and has been doing so for about a month now. I’m not sure wether that means she is ready or not? She can sometimes settle herself after being woken up from a nap after about 2-3 mins (I never leave her longer as I get scared/worried about if she starts crying) and she has a pretty decent routine during the day. Should I start sleep training? What methods are good and reliable ( I am NOT considering the cry-it out method so please do not suggest it) (Pic so I don’t get lost)

I just saw a post about people being lucky their kids go to bed at 7pm, the comments were filled with people saying if they sent their kids to bed at 7…they’d be up at 3:30am / 4am / 5am…why is that??
My son goes to bed at 7pm and wakes up around 8/8:30am. I do consider myself really blessed with his sleep schedule however he doesn’t nap and he’s nearly 2 🤣 he dropped his final nap when he was around 14/15 months old 💔 if it’s later please let me know! Also what time they wake up - I’m curious 👀

Looking for a bit of advice/reassurance from other mums who are breastfeeding.
Baby had lost almost 10% of his birth weight at his Day 5 midwife home visit. He was weighed again today at Day 7 and his total weight loss is now 11%, so I’m feeling quite disheartened.
I’m exclusively breastfeeding and he’s feeding at least every 2 hours. He seems to be latching well and we’re getting plenty of wet nappies. The midwife is coming back in 2 days to weigh him again.
I’m going to make a conscious effort to increase my food and fluid intake too.
Has anyone else had a similar experience with their baby and managed to turn the weight loss around? Would really appreciate hearing how things went for you. Thanks

Hey everyone.
Sorry for the long read but please bare with me.
My husband and I have been together 7.5 years and married for 4 years. We have a nearly 5 year old little boy together.
Everything at the beginning of our relationship was everything I had ever wanted in a relationship. My husband was kind, caring, helpful, ambitious, strong etc. We both spoke about the want for our own family and how we would want to be as parents. Moving forward we got pregnant (planned), pregnancy wasn't easy and I was in and out of hospital a lot during 3rd trimester. My husband was perfect and excited etc throughout pregnancy until the 3rd trimester hit and then went of the rails a bit, drinking etc and not really there when needed.
I had experience with children and helped raised my neices, my husband had no experience. Neither of us had a good upbringing.
Roll on birth and my husband had a face like a slapped bum, our little boy was born absolutely perfect. I was really poorly and lost quite a lot of blood and was being sick. I had the shakes so bad I was struggling to hold my son. My husband left me before I was even moved to the ward whilst being unwell. He left me to go meet his dad at the pub to wet the babies head.
After we were discharged home my husband just took a back seat with everything. I done everything for our son all whilst recovering from a cseaction. My son was a poorly baby and I was also back and forth to Dr's and hospital with him on my own. My husband got a job where it was very long hours and having to stay away a few times a week for work. I was keeping the house, doing everything for our son and keeping everything together with no village. Roll on my son's like 3 weeks old and my husband says he feels nothing for our son. Shortly after this he has a massive breakdown. I supported him through all of this, took him to appointments whilst doing everything for my son who was still poorly.
For 1.5 years I done everything for my son and for everyone else and kept everything together.
Roll on to nearly 4 years later (sons nearly 5) and turns out my son is neurodivergent, has a eating disorder, now has a PEG fitted, has ketotic hyperglycemia, asthma and allergies. I'm dealing with this day in day out all whilst dealing with my own chronic health conditions.
My husband tries but he just shouts at our son a lot and gets frustrated. I feel like we just butt heads and I end up having to defend our child. He still trys to be sexual and kiss etc but I have no desire at all and even him just touching me just makes me want to pull away.
I feel like he hurt me more than anyone or anything possible. He ruined what was meant to the best time of our lives and ruined my whole experience entering motherhood and I just can't get past that. I've spoken to him and told him all this. He keeps saying he's sorry and he will change but it's just empty promises. He's not the man I feel in love with and he's not the father he was meant to be or that I want for our child.
Any advice please?
