I love my baby and I want to take care of her (I like being the one to feed her etc) but people keep telling me “isn’t the love for your child so overwhelming” but I just don’t feel like that, is this normal? I know I love her but I just don’t feel overwhelmed or consumed with love yet. I’ve been told this is normal because alls baby does is sleep and drink at the minute but it’ll all change when she’s smiling and showing me her personality. Just wondering if anyone else is the same? I’m 3 weeks postpartum

Honestly I felt like this with my first, one day you will wake up and look at your baby and be overwhelmed by love. You’re still learning about each right now and bonding💕

I totally get this as 5 days pp and really struggling trying to breastfeed and its hard work and very frustrating combined with nipple soreness and zero sleep
Was expecting to be in this blissful baby bubble but im totally not. Spend most of my days in tears and feeling miserable.

It didn’t kick in till about 7 months for me with my first
Kicked in immediately with my second
It’s all a process, give yourself grace

Genuinely with my first I didn’t feel this until 9/10 months. It’s definitely normal. It will happen for you I promise 🫶🏼

It's normal. With my first I was more overwhelmed with love as he got older. I think stress levels are high in the first few months. Baby doesn't really communicate in any way.

I was like this with my second, my first I was soooooo in love with being a mam it was a dream. When my second was born, the delivery was so quick I didn’t even want to look at her for the first few minutes. I didn’t feel that strong love I felt the first time and it knocked me for days. Then one day she looked at me and smiled and was staring into my eyes with her beautiful eyes and all of a sudden that feeling was there. It is totally normal to question things but that’s how you know your a good mam, constantly questioning yourself xxxxxx

I think it just hits you randomly, I felt the same kinda for the first few days and I’d look at him and i didn’t feel like he was mine. Then when we got into a routine & my partner went back to work I’d sit and talk to the baby and I felt it then and it’s sooo overwhelming I cried my eyes out 😂

I think this is honestly really normal. I was so overwhelmed fist time round that I couldn’t think straight and when it got a bit easier and I got out of the newborn haze I really got that overwhelming feeling of love

I thought it was just me… I cry all the time for no reason and I don’t feel that overwhelming love… I’m just tired and trying to get through the day and the nights are horrendous… no sleep for almost 5 hours… I really can’t wait to get out of this stage

My first who is nearly 8- I didn’t bond initially as was too traumatised by the birth and had a difficult recovery physically and the tiredness was a shock to the system as well as loss of independence. I feel like my love has grown for her more deeply as each year passes. Current newborn I knew what to expect more and realise how quickly each stage passes- the good and the bad- so feel more bonded from the outset. I’ve been more intentional this time in my mindset as I’ve learnt they are so worth the hard days x
Thank you all so much for these comments it’s really made me feel so much better and more normal for feeling how I feel! Xx
My little boy (white/black Caribbean) has almost two hair textures, he has quite loose soft curls at the front but then an almost Afro texture in the back which goes wild. I use the only curls products for kids (shampoo, conditioner, detangle spray and styler) but after he sleeps it just goes crazy. It’s super knotty at the back so he doesn’t tolerate any brushing/combing - I only just manage with a fight when it’s wet.
Any tips on handling the back section? Heavy products don’t seem to work well given how soft it is in the front.

My little one is 2y 2m old. She has just all of a sudden stopped napping. Nursery told me they spend half hour with her and she won't sleep and same at home. I'm really worried nursery will stop trying. But she just will not settle down at all all of a sudden. Help please. It's way too early for her to drop the nap!

She’s 14 weeks. Yesterday we decided to try putting her to bed at 8pm (she usually just comes with us at around 10/11). So we bathed, boobed and transferred to bed by 8. We kept the room dark and she slept there for an hour before waking up. I then took her back with me but she continued sleeping until 11. Woke up at 11, had her nappy changed. All happy as can be. Then slept until 3. Breastfed. Nappy changed at 5. Breastfed. Slept until 7, breastfed. Still asleep now at 11am?
Is this normal? She’s still having wet nappies, feeding, etc. should I wake her? She started trying to roll to her front yesterday, so idk if she’s just tired from the workout 😅

It’s my daughter birthday next week and I was thinking about getting her a trike I really like the little Dutch one but then I’m thinking would I actually use it because it’s nearly winter so she’ll be in her pram a lot with foot muff and we don’t seem to go out a lot in pram whilst she’s awake.
Opinions if you’ve got one do you use it or waste of money?

My baby is really congested overnight. She’s always congested - but particularly more snorty after a bottle of Kendamil. She’s primarily breast fed with one bottle of formula a day in the afternoon. Her poops are also explosive and look like this. Does this look like CMPA, so sorry for the photo! Two first poops from two different mornings. Will add the second to the comments.

My baby girl is 4 days old today and for the past 2 days shes had 2 long night sleeps like 6/7 hours i know you are supposed to wake them up but i feed her extra throughout the day and before bed give her extra boob and when she wakes up asap, her weight looks good, like i know the whole point of waking up for the night feeds is to put on that extra weight but she is doing really well, plus it also helps me get the extra sleep as ive been really sleep deprived what do you think guys anyone else feel like this or is there a serious health issue with her sleeping this long throughout the night, we have her 5 day weigh in tomorrow maybe the nurse will tell me she is a lot bit maybe she will tell me she is okay im not too sure this is all so new to me 😁🙃
