I’ve just found out I’m pregnant again with my second and really happy about it but also very nervous about the age gap and if we will manage a newborn with a toddler (who is a typical boy so is wild). I’m already anxious about going back to sleep deprivation etc as really struggled with my first for the first few months. My first is in nursery/childcare 4 days a week which is helpful but my husband works away sometimes just for 2/3 days at a time and I worry about how I’ll manage.
I know people do but I just need some reassurance!
It’s exactly 2 years after my first so my boy will turn 2 and my due date is a week after this!
Please fill my comments with positive 2 year age gap stories please!

So my daughter is 2y4m older than my son. I spoke about being pregnant and the baby as soon as I knew for the most part everything was okay. I got books about siblings, let her help with sorting out things for the baby and get involved. Even took hwr to some of the doctors appt (not scans) so she could hear the heartbeat.
I let her listen and touch the baby, got her a caddy so she could help get me things. Then she went and picked out a present for the baby.
I explained that I would be in the hospital to have the baby and she would be with nanny, nursery and daddy. She went 1.5 days at the time.
When the baby was born, I wasnt holding him when she came and visited. I made a fuss over her and how much I missed her then let her take the lead. Baby brother got her a present and they exchanged and then when she wanted to I let her hold him.
When we got home I never said no, let her kiss, hug, hold baby as much as she wanted. Found a way for her to help me even if she wasnt helping. Dad took her for a lot of

1 on 1 time at the start as I was recovering from a csection.
Now im 11 months in and things are a lot easier. The first 12 weeks were hard learning how to balance them both. I made sure toddler was put first sometimes even if that meant baby crying. Wanted to show her it wasnt all about the baby. Now I take her out for 1 on 1 time at the weekend while dad looks after baby and I feel like we have a good balance.
Sometimes we are exhausted. Sometimes we have too much tv. But overall I love it and seeing my daughter grow into a caring big sister is amazing. The house is full of laughter, and sometimes tantrums but I wouldn't change it for the world.
Mum guilt is so real sometimes but I accept my feelings, allow them and find a way to move through the chaos.
You've got this! X
I keep seeing posts/tiktoks/instagram reels saying late November babies are being born early like now early and for the last few days my braxton hicks have been terrible. I think I’m also leaking my mucus plug but not sure.

First ever pregnancy the baby was too big, this pregnancy the baby is too small
Last time I got induced and did labour til we reached 10 centimetres but the baby just didn't want to come out,
(at 42 weeks I might add)
so after pushing for so long and 2 doctors later
Emergency C-section it was... On the 25th of May 2025
This time I am hoping for a vbac but they want to induce me at 38weeks this weekend
(so 17 month difference)
because the baby seems to be growing smaller than usual, placenta blah blah blah
Hopefully I can push this baby out or am I being delusional? Lol any thoughts are welcome, I'm based in UK, London

Hey I’m 26 weeks pregnant with my first baby and have been going to the Royal Women’s for my appointments so far, but I have moved recently and now Sandringham is my closest hospital (only a 10 minute drive vs a 30 minute drive to the Women’s). I’m in two minds whether to transfer or not. I have a low risk pregnancy as it stands, but I just want to go to the hospital that will be the best and the best experience. My logic was Royal women may have more competent / skilled staff and can support in any scenario to keep going there. But I’ve also been given advice that Sandringham might be a calmer, more relaxed (less cattle-like) experience of a big hospital and potentially less people in a room post birth. I know being relaxed is so important to a birth experience and perhaps the shorter journey could make a big difference. I would love to hear from mothers who birthed at either regarding their experience (I also hear Sandringham recently switched management so not sure how that’s going). Also any tips on how important the 10 min vs 30 minute drive drive will be when it comes to the big day!
