Swivel swings for newborns - is it worth it?

I’m currently going through my baby checklist and looking into what I still need to buy before the baby arrives. I’ve been checking out the Joie Serina 2-in-1 swivel swing which has good reviews, but I’m still not sure whether it’s worth purchasing.

Does anyone find swivels really useful for a newborn / 0–3 months, or are they one of those items that end up not being used much? I’ve heard mixed opinions, some say they aren’t necessary 🤔

If you do recommend one, when is the best time to buy it (before baby arrives vs later)?

My first lived in our Serina 2in1 for the first 4 months haha. Almost every nap, whenever he was grizzly for no reason he went in it. Highly recommend ❤️ xx

Just to put it out there, before you purchase one of these it’s worth looking into the safety guidance - these kind of swings aren’t designed for newborns to sleep in/spend extended periods of time in as they risk positional asphyxiation.

Never used one never missed one. Babies shouldn’t sleep in them or be in them for extended periods so I don’t really see the point 😅 you’ll also then get them used to the motion which will be a hard habit to break when they grow out of it x

I never used mine. They’re not allowed in them for a long time so it was kind of just a waste of time. It was easier to just baby wear him or find somewhere more safe to lay him down while I was doing something. Everyone’s different though and you might use it a lot more than I did!

I was gifted the joie serina, my bub hated it haha. Only came in use when I had a quick shower, into the garden or cooking and she sat in the removable seat bit. Its a gigantic unit!! Would defo recommend looking on fb market place for one. I wouldnt have bought one myself and would have probably benefitted from a moses basket more x

Baby poops

I’m going alittle crazy! My ebf 11 week old for the past 3 weeks will only poop every 6 days. Brought it up to the pediatrician and I’ve done everything they told us to do. Bicycle kicks, tummy rubs, rectal temp check, warm baths and even a suppository. He is very low on the percentile like 9% so I feel like he isn’t holding on to the milk and about day 4 he is so uncomfortable. We took him to the ER Saturday and they did a xray and just told us he had gas. Went to a follow-up peds appointment and they started him on liquid Pepcid due to possible silent reflux. He burps & farts during/ after feeds. We give mylicon or gripe water for the gas discomfort which helps sometimes. I have a feeling this isn’t normal especially when he used to poop everyday.
Pic so we don’t get lost

Feeling anxious and depressed

Hi everyone
Sorry about the subject I just want someone to talk to. I’ve been feeling anxious and depressed for a long time but since having my children I just don’t want them to see me sad and worried all the time.
I went to the doctors to discuss this with them and was recommended doing couch to 5k with no other help offered? Is this normal.
I understand exercise can sometimes help but I don’t have the time whatsoever as I have no family to help.
I cried my eyes out to this male doctor who offered a few leaflets and couch to 5k and ended it as that.
I left the room in tears.
I’ve never wanted to burden anyone with my problems so I’ve just kept silent about it ever since but I just want to feel happy again
I’m sorry for the sensitive subject

Leftover pregnancy/postpartum products

I have a load of leftover products either unopened or only used once, it seems a shame to throw them away any ideas what I can do with them? I don’t have any friends expecting or likely to get pregnant soon and I guess most places wouldn’t take them as donations? Based in London.

Milk leaking

Does anyone have any tips on how to stop milk leaking? After pumping I’ll put on a nipple pad but it gets soaked up and I leak through my tops/pyjamas.

Does anyone have any nipple pad recommendations? At the moment I’m just using the Boots own make.
