Daytime Naps

What do daytime naps look like for your little one?

My boy will only contact nap during the day, but he's super easily/quickly overtired and becoming increasingly fussy and wriggly when we're holding him. He won't sleep in his bassinet or a next to me we've brought downstairs. We generally keep downstairs bright and the TV stays on in the background for a bit of noise. He won't rally settle in his upstairs next to me, though admittedly I haven't given it a really good go.

He seems to have his day/night sorted out because come 7pm ish he starts sleeping longer stretches (opposed to the 10-50 minute naps he has in the day), only really wakes for a feed and puts himself right back to sleep. He's quite happy in the next to me by our bed at night.

How do you manage naps during the day - do you contact nap? Go in a dark room with white noise? Use the nighttime sleep space? Nap downstairs in the daylight? Please give me as much detail as you can about routines etc...

I need help - my arms are about to give way with carrying him pacing the floor and nerves are frayed with the crying 😩

Hi Jade, I’m joining under your post as my boy is exactly the same. 10 weeks this Wednesday. Inseparable from me in a day, unless we go out for a walk and he sleeps in a pram. Completely fine at night in the next to me. Your not alone xxx

Following - 12 week old little boy with the same sleeping habits 😅x

No advice just solidarity as in the same boat with my 11 week old, I’m exhausted! 😅

I’m exactly the same - 12 week old girly. She won’t be put down in the day, only contact naps or when in her pram. I think this is supposed to be normal but it is so draining trying to get them to sleep and then being nap trapped.

I'm the same, little boy is 11 weeks and I had him in a wee routine there for a few days to do naps in next to me also but he is now doing about ten minutes In next to me and becoming very unsettled and fights sleep! Only way I can settle him is on me. It is very draining! Of course he is my world but I feel so drained with the fact I am needed all the time as bad as that sounds

I’m here with you, 9 weeks, still well within the 4th trimester. We contact nap during the day or she’ll sleep in the pram if it’s moving, sling is also a good option but my god, it takes sooo long to get her down. She fights sleep so bad and is then miserable 🫠

I used to feel the same, I felt like my baby wasn’t tired enough and I would give up and then she would just stay awake for most of the day / cat nap

I’ve since been using an app called Napper which helps to work out her wake windows and her optimal time for naps. You set your ideal wake time and bed times and it calibrates it all for you. I would highly recommend as it’s really helped me for the past few weeks

My 12 week old only cat naps. She’ll fall asleep on us but won’t let us put her down without waking. She sleeps 11-12 hours through the night but lucky to get 30 mins during the day! 😂

My 10 week old boy is the same will only contact nap in the day, or pram or car as long as its moving, I have the ergo embrace carrier for if I need to get stuff done so I'm not as nap trapped and he usually falls asleep pretty quicky in it as long as he isnt overtired, he still wakes every 3-4 hours at night in his next to me x

1 YEAR JABS, DO I GIVE THEM TO MY BABY OR NOT?

Hi,
I’m really stressed because my mum is telling me not to get my child vaccinated with the 1 year jabs. My baby has already had the first 3 jabs but she’s really trying to get me to not get him vaccinated. I would like real opinions please. Has anyone here not had their baby jabbed? Please don’t think I’m silly for writing this, first time mum here so everything is so scary and new. Thank you!

Help!!!!

Someone please help me with some advice because I’m losing my absolute mind 😭
Baby is 5 months old, she has changed a lot in personality over the last month, more needy, sleep changes etc but have put it down to the 4 month regression and teething.
However, the problem that makes me want to literally cry is the car seat! She is totally inconsolable now every time she’s in the car. Why? And what can I do to help it?!

PP things I hate

Everything is stress induced anymore
My daughter has this ongoing diarrhea for 2 weeks now and I’ve gotten no sleep from it, I now have a canker sore from it, my acid reflux has more flare ups than ever. I don’t like having sex anymore (I love my partner and I still find him very attractive). Im way too overly touched (by the baby, by the dog and by him). Im 10m pp and I haven’t been able to wear a dang tampon! I don’t do pads because they are just not for me so I wear a diaper.
Please tell me if you relate to any of this at all? Or if I’m just crazy

Sleep regression solidarity

Anyone else’s little one been hit by sleep regression like a ton of bricks? 🙃.

Baby girl was sleeping so well then this past week has been struggling, last night was WILD. We are currently running on caffeine and vibes 😅✌️.

We can do this mamas.

Toddler being overly affectionate towards the end of my pregnancy

Has anyone got any experience with a toddler somewhat becoming more affectionate towards the end of pregnancy. I'm almost 37 weeks and my daughter has suddenly taken a liking to lay on my bump, talking to the bump and overall being very cuddly. She has also been an amazing sleeper up until about 3 days ago and she absolutely insists on coming into our bed for about an hour before we are due to all get up. Is she sensing the change and the shift that is about to happen?
