Kids using iPad
How long do you allowed your child to use an iPad per day? I follow the rule 1-2 hours the max, but typically stick with 30 minutes to no more than 1 hour a day.

We give our daughter about 1 hour max of screen time a day (TV in our case since she doesn’t have a tablet), and that’s only if we even turn it on. How old is your kiddo? Do you notice any issues with behavior, attention span, or their ability to play/be bored without screens? I think those things can help determine if you might want to reduce it. My daughter is 4 and we’re planning to hold off on handheld devices as long as possible.

I love putting passive screens up like ballets, orchestras, choirs, that sort of thing. They more so listen than watch but still get super excited when I pull out their tiny violin to practice on. I’ve got ridiculously cultured babies already🥴😂

Thinking about homeschool
Any moms homeschooling their 5 year olds. How is it going for you ? What do you guys do for the social part of the day,like having them be around other kids and stuff. And what website can I get free printable curriculum worksheets?

Primary School Nursery
Hi everyone! So my son will be 3 at the end of October so he won’t be able to start at a primary school nursery until Jan 27. But I’m so confused how the funding works. So he is currently getting 30hrs funded at his private nursery but the primary school we are considering says -
With regard to the number of hours, we offer 15 funded hours or a full day (30 hours + 1 additional hour ie 8.30am – 3.30pm). If selecting 30 hours then the first 15 will be funded and the remainder will be chargeable (£112.50 per week) unless you qualify for the extended funding. If you qualify for the extended funding you will only need to pay for the 1 additional hour (£30 per week).
This is where I’m completely baffled. Does anyone mind explaining it to me please? 🫣😊 Thank you xx

Meals
How many meals are your little ones on? Mines currently on 1 but unsure when to move to 2.

Convo between me and my husband
Me: your (early) dinner is ready.
Him: okay (comes to start eating but it’s a hot because it just came off the stove)
Me: (feeding our year and a half old toddler while he eats)
Him: it’s hot so I’m gonna go do something work stuff to let it cool down
Me: makes sense okay (still feeding and watching our kid)
Him: (goes upstairs does work stuff, starts asking me a bunch of questions about other things, and starts playing his phone game about 20 mins has passed from when he went upstairs)
Me: my stomach hurts I gotta go to the bathroom, keep eyes on our kid
Him: okay
Me: goes to bathroom with kid trailing behind me (totally fine cause husband is trailing our kid I make it to the bathroom and sit down)
Toddler: (rips trash can lid off and starts trying to get into it)
Me: husband he is getting in the trash can
Him: I’m right here (he was just out of my line of sight and walks in grabs our kid)
Me: I’m gonna finish going to the bathroom and then take a shower.
Him: but I need to eat my food
Me: eat it and watch our son- I do that all the time.
Him: ya but I’m not you
Me: well what do you want me to do?
Him: finish going to the bathroom and then watch him and when I’m done you can shower. It’s not enjoyable to watch him and eat( sounds fair but my husband eats one BIG ASS meal a day, watches his phone and takes about an hour to finish)
Me: I don’t care we are about to have two kids so you’re gonna have to learn to eat while watching them.
Him: (starts laughing and closes door on way out of bathroom, he knew I was right lollll)

Toddler not interested in independent play
Hi I just wanted to see if anyone is experiencing the same thing. My toddler will be 17 months in a few days and he hardly plays with his toys/read his books by himself anymore. He used to sit and play or read his books for quite a while throughout the day but now he just follows me around the house and he rather play with household things instead of his toys if I am doing things around the house. I do sit and play/read with him and that seems like the longest he will play with his toys if I am right next to him.
I’m wondering if this is a phase with the clingyness as I want to get him some good developmental toys for when he’s 18 months but Im worried he won’t play with them.
