We had referral from GP and waited for 6 months for scan and blood test, as we decided finally was calling the clinic for booking consent calls they turned us away as referral was more tha 1 year ago.
They didn't share the information that the referral can expire and we need to do everything from scratch.
Now the earliest IVF cycle we can have is in August???
Did you have similar experience?
Will they withheld further important information throughout the process?
I will not trust the process if we will have these bump ahead.
Would you start again or just give up?

Privet or NHS I would recommend asking all questions even if you feel it’s not relevant or you may think it’s stupid.
Knowledge is power, do research as well about your self and fertility, then question them about it.
August isn’t that far it will go quick.
You’re lucky you got it that quick.
They may have not told you about it expiring because they properly expected you to do it there and then and not wait.
The reason you will have to start again is because blood test change and scans do to and for them to give you the best and truthful outcome it has to be accurate.
Also giving up is not going to get where you want to be.
IVF can be long, hard, emotional and a trying process for you and your partner.
This is one of many hurdles and if your ready to give up now then IVF isnt for you.
I am not saying that to be a bitch I promise!
I did ivf for just over 5 years.
I wouldn’t give up though if this is what you want. xx

I’m sorry it’s tough. IVF is a very very tough journey, there will be lots of bumps ahead , this is nothing in comparison. So I would brace yourself if and when you proceed .
If you wish to be fully in control and cannot wait, you can go private , and pay. Even then it’s not as quick and seamless .
I have been through it and trust me when I say you need to be ready for what lies ahead and not accept defeat .
Do your research ahead of August , learn from this process and ask all the questions.
I started my journey both in the NHS and private , by the time I got called for my NHS appointment ( waited 6 months ), all my results were ready from the private tests . Using those results expedited the appointments there after .
IVF and all of it will make sense once you start and are in it .
All the best .
Thank you for your kind words. I hope the process will be smooth this time.
Will double check everything from now on.
When we spoke to the clinic I asked them about the timing and they told me as soon as I feel ready to do so. Took me longer than they have allowed.
thank you. Hope will be back soon with positive results.

IVF is typically a long, shit journey I’m afraid. My tips - go private if you can OR go nhs but pay for a private consultant. Way way better care and wasn’t that much more expensive, he pushed through additional tests for us free of charge etc. my consultant did everything (scans, egg collection, transfer back in multiple times and looked after us for our son and I’m now pregnant with twins). If you’re London based I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him
thank you for your answer.
I am London based, would you give his contact details? Thanks.
thank you 😊
