Moving to El Paso
Hi, I’m a nurse and military wife, and our next move will be to El Paso in a few months. I’m in my 40’s, with a 17 month old baby boy. I’m originally from Nigeria and I love culture and community. I would like any recommendations on a good area for a home. Somewhere not too far off from fun things to do, Restaurants, activities, shops and malls, but also not too far from the airport. An environment that’s diverse. I would also like to meet other moms to make friends. Planning on getting a full time live in nanny when we get there, so any tips on how best to find a good nanny will be appreciated. Any other tips to help ease the anxiety of the move will be appreciated. Keeping my fingers crossed I get some responses and hope to make friends before we get there. 🤗

Hi :) We actually just moved here in February from Kansas City, and my brother has been living here for about 4 years, so he recommended the 79938 area to us. It’s really pretty, feels very family friendly as there are a lot of children, and we’re only about 17 minutes from the airport, which is super convenient 🥰 plus close to restaurants and shops!
As for the nanny part, I’m not too sure, so I don’t want to say the wrong thing. But overall, El Paso is known for being very safe, and from what I’ve personally seen, people here are honest. Not sure if they are Kansas nice, as they don't greet you or try to be friendly to strangers 🥺 that's one thing that I will miss about Kansas, it felt more like a community. Here, it feels more like people are just minding their business and don’t care to be welcoming. Also, the only thing I’d say is that drivers can be a little aggressive sometimes lol, not in a scary way, but they may cut you off here and there 💔
