Hi ladies, I read in one of the pregnancy leaflets that I need to give my newborn vitamin d. None of the health visitors or midwives have mentioned this to me, do I go to my gp for this or is this something I buy over the counter ?

I bought over the counter. The HV and midwife didn't tell me either. A member of the infant feeding team did though. I use Well baby drops

Its the drops you can buy from the pharmacy. One drop a day. I keep forgetting to give mine it.
If your breastfeeding as well i was advised to also take a vitamin d tablet.

Yeah it’s too bad midwives don’t mention it, given that it’s important and breastfed babies need it explicitly . As a FTM, recovering from cesearean, I only managed to read the red book at 3 weeks and that’s when I got to know it has to be given from birth
