Shifts

Hello all,

As a single mom it has been very hard to balance being 2 months post partum with PPD/PPA. My mom and I have been taking shifts. I have the 8am-2pm and 6pm-12am. While she has the 12am-8am, 2am-6pmThis shift is not working for me because im a night owl with extreme insomnia. Once I finally eat something and decompress I would only get like 4 hours of sleep which is really hard. How do you guys balance shifts between two people without being sleep deprived and mean to eachother? I suggested taking a night shift, or a 12pm to 12am shift but she says it's undoable.

Try to just do naps when the baby is napping. I sometimes feel sick from the lack of sleep. Only thing is to try to nap when they’re napping to get more sleep.

If you think you could trust yourself co sleeping then do it I was scared at first but I barely move you wake for a little when you feel her moving then go back to sleep I breast feed while she eats I go back to sleep 🤣🩷 I’ll pray for you love wish I could help I would 🙏

Are you able to take melatonin to see if it helps you sleep ? Or ashwagandha magnesium glycinate helped me a whole lot!

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

Self settling

Any tips or advice of how to teach 6.5month old to self settle? I’m up multiple times in the night to cuddle her back to sleep and put the dummy in. I understand she will wake up and want a cuddle etc but any tips on self settling would be appreciated 🥰

Hi ya'll

Is anyone else's 4 month old randomly screeching now? I'm not sure what to do and she's been doing this for the past two days. She's usually a quiet happy baby so im not sure why she's doing this now. Aby suggestions?

Baby losing weight

Hi all, it's been a long time since I had a baby (my son is 15!). My daughter is 10 days old and was 9lb born, she has since lost weight at every appointment and is at a 12% loss. I am breast feeding every two hours for over an hour and topping her up every feed. I pump and can get 60ml in 10 minutes so I know my supply is okay. Anyone had this before? Can give me some tips? I currently feel like I'm letting my baby down.
