Hi,
How soon after birth I can safely start exercising again? I’m a FTM and would usually be quite active. I enjoy running and going to the gym, but during pregnancy I’ve mostly stuck to yoga and the occasional walk. My job is quite active as well, so I’m often on my feet all day and pretty tired by the evening.
I’d really like to get back into running and the gym after birth if possible, starting gently and building up gradually… wondered what peoples thoughts/experiences are.

If you have a natural birth you can start deep abdominal and pelvic work after a week or so but high intensity work after 6 weeks.
If you have a section you're looking at 8-12 weeks depending on your personal recovery.

I can’t wait to get back to running and kickboxing too, but likely to has a C-section so it’ll be at least 6 weeks for me

I plan on getting some walking in during the earlier weeks but I won’t be training or running till 6-8 weeks.
I’ll be waiting on my community midwife to give the clear that I’m in the safe zone.
