Are these men ok?

I get so sad seeing all the posts on here daily about women dealing with partners who are treating them horribly. I know it seems over represented because those of us with great partners don’t need to write posts asking for help, but I really hope most of us don’t have these kinds of men in our lives!

I tell my husband about these posts I see sometimes and he’s even shocked by some of the things these guys say/do.

Nobody’s perfect, and every relationship takes work. And becoming parents is a stress test unlike any other for sure, but seeing how many women get stuck in these relationships with men who aren’t interested in being better is so so sad😞

But is/was your partner helpful, loving, and supportive during your pregnancy/PP/etc? Was he a wonderful person but changed for the worst after becoming a parent? Has he put effort into becoming the partner you need him to be, even if he struggles?

So I am gay now but when I was with my husband (we had split for years before i figured out I am gay) and he was an abusive, useless man. He went to Disneyland with his BM and son when I was a 2 weeks pp and had only been home with our son for a week cuz he was a nicu baby. I thought he went for his son’s birthday so I had thought I was being understanding only to find out after I was pregnant with baby number 2 (6 months pregnant) that it was really a babymoon for their second child…. He was living a whole double life. So yeah I too had a shitty (male) partner and am way happier to be single.

Marrying my husband was the best decision I’ve ever made. He’s been my best friend & biggest support system since I was 17. He’s the best!

We’ve had difficult patches but I’d not want to go through life or parenthood without him!

My husband is my best friend. We’re high school sweethearts 💕 he was soooo helpful during my pregnancy and post partum. He’s an amazing dad and husband. He’s definitely not perfect (no one is) but I couldn’t ask for a better partner in this

I SHOULD HAVE STAYED SINGLE

My hubs is shocked at the number of these posts & need to put out all the content to help avoid these men, only to have men like this comment on those posts too. He has an employee like this & can’t exactly go off on him, but he can laugh or look stunned at the dumb stuff he says. Unfortunately, this guy is my hubs friend & assistant manager’s long term BF & he’s found himself telling him to cook his own damn meals a few times recently. She’s a bit older than my hubs & was just diagnosed w/COPD & been having health & $ issues & dude is an inconsiderate AH who complains about her not doing as much, when she’s the breadwinner & does way more. We knew they were out there & the rarity, but they are deff loud & these women have a voice these days.

Also though, I find it hilarious how many women these days actually believe that men & women are so different from each other & that we should know that men can’t multitask things like childcare & household tasks. The first time I read that I was STUNNED, like wtf, if that was the case they’d never be able to keep a job, women would be ruling the world for all these incompetent men. I read one to my hubs yesterday & his response was “well that’s insulting”, I was like yeah, but less insulting than “women being too emotional” to be in the workplace or especially upper level positions w/I companies or government, that’s when we both laugh bc we both went into management & our most emotional employees are almost always men, a woman could be a single mom working 2 jobs & you see her come in w/swollen eyes only to put on her work face & get the job done, then like right now he has a guy mad that he can’t fight w/employees who don’t agree w/him politically & has stamped around for months.😂

My husband is my person, other half, all the cliches.
With that, after our first I will say I did expect more hands on from him in the very beginning. He was so loving and affectionate with me, I assuming it would… translate.
The NICU gave him a fear of hurting bubs when he was so tiny, and the wires. He would stop breathing while eating. I think he fed him once in the hospital. Always “wanted to watch to learn”.
Then we ended up EBF after he came home. Was almost like he was scared of him, honestly.
So he did everything else he could to help, take care of me, clean, cook, etc.

15mths, they’re best friends now and he’s a great hands on dad. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I’ll say it like this, I’ve never gotten to a point in any of it where I questioned him & I being together. Or him as an actual father. Just had to… be patient, teach him a little, learn how to care for a baby myself and grow together.
Which like is the whole point, isn’t it?

Am I Being Unreasonable?

Hi ladies I'm just looking for an outside perspective because I'm driving myself crazy thinking this over. In the last year I have completed the last year of my masters, planned my wedding, looked after my 2 and 3 year old, been taking weekly driving lessons, been preparing my 3 year old for the nursery she had just started, lost a pet that was more like a fur baby, my father has reappeared in my life last week after 30 years and I've dealing with a strained relationship with my mum. My now husband has been pushing for us to move house and told me he wanted us to move 2 days before our wedding and 6 weeks before my master's deadlines. I told him at the time I wanted to wait until the beginning of next year because I felt overwhelmed already but eventually I caved and reluctantly agreed to go ahead. I know the reasons he wants to move and I agree, they mainly involve more space and a bigger room for our youngest. I've told him today I'm mentally exhausted and cannot commit to helping with the house selling/buying/moving process right now. This has angered him as he feels I have forced him into the decision of taking the house off the market, am I being unreasonable?

Just need to rant!!!

Just collected my son from nursery (where I also work but have now broken up for maternity) to find out that a colleague has been off today with the stomach bug but still sent her children in for a full day!
I'm furious as this particular colleague normally complains about parents sending in their children to "spread" the sick bug whilst they're at home and causing staff to become unwell. I'm also furious as she knows I'm so close to having my 2nd baby any day and one of her children is in the same room as my son! This colleague in the past has always gone on about how vulnerable newborns are but all of a sudden she is doing exactly what she moans about!
Part of me wants to message her and have a go but I know it's pointless 😭
I now feel that I've got to keep my son off nursery until at least a month after baby is born just to help protect us all, but I know they will still expect me to pay for his space!

Sorry to rant on here but it's safer than messaging work!

Been called a horrible parent

So my partner has called me a horrible parent, pathetic and selfish

So basically our son has toys in his room and he finds the biggest one to stand on to climb over his baby gate and then after this he has free reign of the whole house... He's worked out how to unlock child locks on the fridge and cupboards so this morning for example he helped himself to a yoghurt and even a spoon from the drawer where the knives are.

So I've switched the baby gate to a more difficult one to open because he even worked out bow to open the gate, and Ive most of his toys out his room and now my partner had called me selfish because I want to lie in a morning, which is true but I don't want my self and our daughter to be woken up at 5-6am when my alarm is set between 7am and 7:45am I usually wake between those times anyway.

Came home from work tonight and all my partner has done is try to argue his point that I should get the locks you put on the doors and so be can't get anywhere around the house and even said put it on our door but he kicked off when I said we can put it on his door instead arguing what if he's sick and chokes on it or if something happens and we can't hear but it would be the same thing if we put it on our door...

My son is 4 and he may have autism, but calling me a horrible parent is just uncalled for because yeah I don't wanna be woke up at the crack of dawn but at the same time I want my fucking child to be safe! He came down to the kitchen this morning before even entering our bedroom...

C section

My partner got kicked out the room while I was being stitched up during my emergency c section and showed his mum our baby boy before I could even look at him without being drugged up. He’s called me childish for being hurt by this. He said he was crying and that’s why. But wouldn’t your first thought be if I’m okay not to FaceTime ur mum while I’m still in theatre. Was being the first one to hold him not enough? Thoughts?

What is everyone paying for a babysitter?

Let's say once a week for 4 hours how much are you giving per hour?
I'm in the process of hiring a new babysitter and am surprised with how many people asking for $25 an hour with no degree and little experience. My previous babysitter was happy with $10 an hour but unfortunately we moved. Is anyone paying $25+ for a babysitter??
