My 2.5y/o old struggles with the simplest of changes, like recently the weather has started to get warmer so i’ve tried putting her in a short sleeve top, but it’s been soo long since she’s worn on that she now immediately starts to freak out (in a sad way not bad behaviour way) if I put a short sleeve top on her, she’ll take it off and demand long sleeve.
Basically, she struggles with changes a lot. In knowing this, we’ve had a potty in the house for almost a year now, we’ve read books, played our scenarios with toys etc. all of it. She is really great at talking and listening and fully fully understands the point of a potty / toilet. There’s no confusion.
But with it being a change to routine / what she is used to, I can’t get her to even sit on the potty. She just immediately starts to cry and hyperventilate. She’s genuinely scared or something and i’ve tried 3 times to potty train her. I’m at a loss and i’m so worried about it.
Please can anyone offer any advice at all?? I feel like we’ve tried everything. We have 3 potty options as well in the house (one being a seat to go on the toilet with steps) so she has options.
Some part of me says to just wait for her to be ready, but then I feel like i’m failing as a Mum if I don’t step up and help her learn this skill, like i’m leaving her to deal with it alone, that feels so wrong :/

Don’t force it if she’s not ready. There’s no timeline for when a child is potty trained (except for starting school, there are some rules)
I did the naked method with my son and he was trained in a week with only having one accident. He has been potty trained for 3 months now
