Am I allowed to take my child to my ultrasound appointment, it in Aberdeen and through the NHS, I did have childcare in place however it’s fallen through last minute and as it’s the first appointment I don’t want to miss it?

I asked the other day and they said they tend not to want children there because they really need to concentrate but if things happen that can’t be helped. Depends what age your kid is maybe put them in a buggy strapped in with a phone or something to keep then occupied whilst you’re being seen too

NHS never let me take my son in with me sadly, hopefully they let you but I doubt it😢 probably make you reschedule.

I’ve had to take my son (16m) to 2 scans so far as I just didn’t have childcare, none of them mentioned it, if anything they were happy to see him. Maybe depends on the age? Both scans at Aberdeen maternity hosp, one in the rubislaw ward and one in the scanning department x

I took my 2yr old daughter at the time she sat in her pram in the corner of the room watching cocomelon at a low volume the technician made such a stink about it constantly saying she couldn’t concentrate and I really shouldn’t of had her there… she didn’t make a sound she ended up ending the appointment and telling me I needed to rebook.

I am based in Aberdeen and sometimes couldn't sort out childcare for my 4 yo and took him along to ultrasounds which was fine and they were understanding

I've had to take my 14 month old to every scan as been myself and have no family to help. Partner at work etc. Everytime bar one it's never been mentioned. One time I was if I was alone etc and I said yes, didn't look too impressed but as long as they can get what they need done then shouldn't be an issue. Plenty snacks or low volume screen time should be all good :) any other department I've been to minus scan have all loved seeing bubs. Even watching her while I did a wee sample cos I wouldn't fit her in the small room 😂 think depending on the sonographer, worst case they'll reschedule. If that had happened to me though I'd have had to speak to higher up as even rescheduling wouldn't have changed our situation other than the sonographer as my baby would be with me regardless due to no help haha xx
Went into Mama’s and Papa’s yesterday but found it so overwhelming. Anyone have any recommendations of things we absolutely need for the newborn and what you couldn’t live with out? Which pushchair did you go for? There’s so much to choose from! First time mama needs help 💖

Hello!
Has anyone ever had an SVT during pregnancy? I have no underlying heart issues and no family history, however last week my heart raised to 151bpm and stayed like it for hours. Had to call an ambulance and be kept in A&E overnight - was given adenosine to bring it down but it was very scary. I’m 21 weeks. I’m going to have an echocardiogram to see if there’s anything underlying. Thankfully baby boy is fine! Just wondering if anyone has ever had this as it’s made me so worried?

I had my ‘booking’ in appointment yesterday over the phone and they set up my app and things. I have an appointment on there for 16 weeks but I still can’t see a 12 week appointment?
Is this normal?

FTM and find that people keep touching my buggy like it’s public property every week.
They will move it out of the way, use it as a crutch, walk by and just grab it for to reason, try to squeeze past it or over when I make a hand gesture that I’m actively moving it out of their way. All while my baby is inside it and usually asleep.
It always happens so fast that I can’t even react. As an adult, I wouldn’t come and touch your vehicle...
Does this happen to anyone else?

Anyone else practicing supported sitting with their 4 month olds? Mine rolls both ways and she holds her neck pretty strong. Would it be okay to try or is this too early?

So I’m 17 days post c section and on my left side I can really feel what I can only describe as an internal incision/stitches I feel it most when I move in certain positions, stretch, sit up etc. it’s like a pulling/tugging sensation it’s kind of hard to explain.
Has anyone else experienced this? I have an appointment tommorow with the wound clinic.
