Obsessed with hands

Is anyone else’s LOs obsessed with their hands?! My daughter is constantly sucking on her hands and sometimes will try to put her whole fist in. She also has a dummy and is getting frustrated as I think she also wants to suck her hands at the same time but then knocks the dummy out… anyone else in the same boat? And are you cleaning hands regularly?!

12 weeks old and yes, for weeks ☺️ it’s a good developmental sign that they’re finding their hands and mouth. We wipe her hands every time we change her nappy.

Mine is doing this constantly too at 3 months old!

Yep, love her exploring her hands, looking at them, playing with them & beginning reaching out for things. So cute! She’s just over 3 months.

My little boy is doing the same thing, but he puts his hands so far in, that he keeps gagging and making himself sick 🤦‍♂️

Have they got any teeth coming ? My little girl was chewing on her hands thought she was hungry but turns out she has 2 teeth already 🤣 xx

Mine started teething about 10-11 weeks old. Shes got one at the bottom nearly coming through. I think she uses her hands to self soothe aswell

How are you handling sleep with the hand sucking? We currently swaddle my 11 week old, but think we’ll have to stop soon. I’m worried she won’t sleep because she’ll constantly be sucking her hands!

Autism

I have been noticing everyone I know that as a boy 2-5 years has been diagnosed with autism. Has anyone else noticed this or maybe I’m just noticing this out of concern for my 10 month old boy.

How do you cosleep?

I know all about sleep safe 7, the dangers of cosleeping etc etc, but there seems to be a huge difference between online and people I meet in real life. Most people I know report cosleeping, but online its villainised more.
No judgement here - I'm just genuinely curious what people are actually doing!

Comments if its something different.

Our baby has her own cot. She sleeps well in it until early morning and then only sleeps if shes on/next to me. I'll also admit to having fallen asleep breastfeeding several times (no lectures, she's safe - but other people have said they've done the same).

How often is your baby waking up in the night?

My baby is 5 months old and waking up every 3 hours. Some nights he could do a 4 hour stretch and some he would do just 2. It’s a bit all over the place to be honest. Is it normal for so many wake ups at this age? What is everyone else’s baby doing?

Swing or bassinet

We've been co-sleeping/bed-sharing with our one month old (5 weeks tomorrow) since she and I came home from the hospital. While I love the cuddles I do want our bed back too. I will add too, that we try to make it as safe as possible and want her in a safe situation. She doesn't like sleeping by herself, however we've been putting her in her swing (pic below) close to daily, since she came home and at first she only liked it for a few minutes, now it could be an hour, before she protests, asleep or awake! She likes the music and rocking motion it seems and seems fascinated by the mobile when she's awake and not sleepy. We can probably get her used to the bassinet in a similar way, but I'm wondering if we should just get two of these? My husband says the music would drive him crazy, lol, but we could just do it with white noise and see if it has the same effect. He's saying it's probably good for her to learn how to sleep in different conditions. I do agree, as our older daughter can't take naps at friends' houses and stuff. Just not sure of the best route here. Anyway tia!
