Yes/no, because not everyone can afford therapy and medication and it cost an arm and a leg in most countries which is why people tend to neglect their mental health.

I think it’s a luxury because I can’t afford it personally but I also don’t believe in medications and wouldn’t take any for personal reasons

Lack of time? No. I’m sorry but if your mental health is really that bad it should be a priority and you make the time.

Affordability though? Yes. Particularly those who have to pay for their treatment / medication.

Therapy and medication are a privilege and luxury in the U.S.
I understand what you’re saying about time, but it’s also affordability.

I have several mental health issues, that require medication to correct the chemical imbalance in my brain.
One of them without insurance cost 3k for a month prescription.
I’ve had to forgo it many times because I couldn’t afford it when I lost insurance. And have had to change treatment plans many times without professional oversight.
The only reason I’m getting treatment right now in pregnancy is because I’m relying on state insurance because I have not been able to work during pregnancy.
So once pregnancy is over, I lose state insurance and once again lose my treatment, even though I still won’t be able to work for a while.
So yes. Definitely a privilege and a luxury…
