Period like pains

I would ring triage tbh. Sounds like early labour pains but could be something completely different. Better to be safe than sorry!!

Early labour can start a couple weeks before the main event xx

I went into labour at 36 weeks with my first and it felt like period cramps at first, but came in waves rather than a constant feeling. If it is coming in waves like contractions and continuing I’d head to triage. It could also just be braxton hicks, that can feel like period cramps too but that shouldn’t last very long.

I had the same and went in to triage to be monitored last week. They also checked to see if my waters had broken. Was really nice to see the labour ward, hear baby on the ctg and everything turned out to be fine! Really recommend calling just for peace of mind 🩷

If it’s dull and constant it’s mostly uterus stretching. If it comes in waves then i would ring triage

Thanks all! I called them and they’ve said to take paracetamol and rest and call back in an hour if it’s not any better x

Im here in hospital with the same thing, its a sign of early labour. They took swabs and tested positive for early labour and contractions.
Im 34 weeks today but may have to transfer hospital as the NICU is full.

My waters broke 3 weeks ago 😢 been ok since but started with period cramps around 5am. Waiting on the next steps now xx

I’m literally the same (and exact same - 35 weeks tomorrow) have had period pains and lower back pain on and off all day. I thought the same as you, because it didn’t come in waves it was fine. I was at triage last week for reduced movements and asked about it (as I’d had cramps before but not for as long) and she said as long as the pain isn’t more than 4/10 and no other symptoms it’s just the uterus stretching. Still worried today though 😂
