Ugh this sounds like my situation… hugs 💜

They will in time… my parents divorced when I was 2 and I learned by about 11 or 12 that he wasn’t the best dad and that he didn’t really want to be present unless it benefited him. But with that being said, don’t ever talk down on the other parent in front of the child or to the child. Kids hold onto that stuff and it can make them secretly resent both parents

It sounds like you feel unseen and unheard that’s a horrible feeling. As much as it’s nice for people to recognize our effort, especially when it’s so exhausting as single parenting. Feeling proud of your own self is so powerful, regardless of what anybody else thinks or says. Life would life be so much easier if we get control other people. lol but you’re the one who’s cultivating a deep relationship with your child. I guarantee you he will know that he will know who shows up for him. I know it’s hard, but focussing on the value that you have in your relationship with your child is what I would focus on. And to be real, especially little boys, they love their mommies. ❤️ I hope this gives you strength.
