If I have a c-section can I take sick leave then maternity or can I only take maternity?

Once you have had the baby, maternity leave has to legally start so you wouldn't be able to take sick leave
Maternity only
Maternity leave is triggered as soon as the baby is born.
Maternity leave, unless your baby is in NICU sometimes you get additional holiday for that.
HR Manager here. As everyone else has said. Typically a C-section is treated as childbirth, not a separate illness so you’d have to take it as maternity leave.
Maternity starts when your baby is born regardless of the method they are born
Maternity only it starts as soon as baby is born c section or natural.

I went into labour before my maternity leave started, when I got my maternity letter it was dated the day I gave birth as I had to legally inform them of that date to start my mat leave.

Unless you choose to go off earlier or like where I work i had to start mat leave 2 weeks before my due date. Its like others have said. You are still entitled to your annual leave as if you are working. I took 2 weeks annual leave and 2 weeks mat leave before my daughter arrived. I then took my 5.5 weeks annual leave before returning (april born). So i got a year off mostly paid
I know someone that did maternity leave then short term disability. Maybe you could do that.

Might be a silly question but I'm a ftm and my baby is 4 weeks, me and my mum are going to a garden centre and want to take the baby, my question is, is that okay?
Did anyone else take their baby out at 4 weeks?

I’m so nervous, 1st ultrasound tomorrow
I stupidly did the sneak peek gender test at 7 weeks before I even had my first ultrasound. It says I’m having a girl. I have two boys currently. I’ve had a miscarriage before and I’m so worried this ultrasound is going to show something that isn’t a viable pregnancy. I feel like I know in my core that everything is OK but I have that nervous feeling of the unknown as well. I’m 8 weeks today. Idk why I’m posting lol I’m just so nervous.

Home birth at 40 +2! Baby has arrived
Really happy to say my baby has arrived safely after an incredible home birth. I'm so pleased to have gotten my home birth with my second child. The difference post birth is truly magical.
My 5 year old daughter was there to witness her baby brother come in the world. I had a lovely hot bath in the evening and we all laid on the sofa for the remainder of the day and watched strictly before heading to bed.
The birth overall was fast at 6hrs 30 mins. Although at the time it felt long and very intense.
Happy to share any further details on my birth as I know how much birth stories helped me when I was planning my home birth as I was outside of guidance with risk of PPH.

Pelvic pain
I don’t know whether triage would want to see me or whether they’d not be interested as I’m 40+2 weeks, and over the past three days, I’ve started to feel like my pelvis is ripping to shreds, it’s so sore, has a burning sensation sometimes and getting out of bed is painful, sitting on the toilet is painful. Unless I keep my legs closed it hurts. Sleeping is painful. Is this normal?
