What to do the night before a c-section

My planned c-section is in 6 days! I am so nervous. I’ve had an emergency c-section with my first baby, so there is some trauma associated with giving birth for me. I’m excited to meet my baby more than anything though.

What should I do the night before my c-section? I know you are not supposed to eat for 8 hours prior. What kind of meal should I eat? I was thinking tofu rice bowl with avocado.

I’m going to do a full shower the night before and then a body rinse the morning of. Did you do your hair? I read no hair products? What day should I shave this coming week? I read you shouldn’t do it the night before.

I have an OB apt on Friday, so I know I can ask these things then, but I’m just feeling anxious to plan.

The night before I had a really carb full meal so it filled me up. I washed my hair and styled it the night before, so it was good for at least a week afterwards - I used all my normal hair products. I shaved 4-5 days before, but did my under arms the night before along with my hair wash! (not sure if it was allowed but that’s what I did.. whoops!) - I was told the morning of to shower with unscented soap!
I know it’s easier said than done but don’t be nervous I would have a planned caesarean again! It was such a calm and magical experience!
Hope this helps you in some way! Good luck!

I had steak and fries with peas and mushrooms, I also didn’t care about my hair 😂 as I had to deliver her 3 weeks early so she was elective but with urgency. I also didn’t shave as they advise you not to (down there) due to infection risk X

Definitely shave lol it was so awkward having someone else shave me 😂😂😂 but otherwise not much just make sure you have everything you need and try to relax

Contractions with closed cervix

I’ve been up at triage overnight since yesterday morning for movements. On the ctg and what I can feel is tightening/contractions and they’re in the high 50s/60s on the toco readings. The doctor checked my cervix because of this but it’s closed still, but I can still see them happening on the toco machine. They’ve also seen I have excess fluid around baby. I’m going home soon but it just worries me a little. Any information or advice would be great

C-section mums

Since April is Cesarean Section Awareness Month, I feel like I just need to get this off of my chest.

I had an emergency c-section 5 months ago and I'm still in pain. My stitches look dry and healing okay from the outside but internally I feel like something is ripping. I wouldn't say it's painful but it sure feels uncomfortable especially when I'm moving or walking or getting up from bed or the couch.

I'm proud of other mums who had a good recovery. I admire your strength. Some would even say they feel normal after 6-8 weeks. I wonder why I don't. Is it because as a SAHM I don't really get a rest? Because I have to show up 24/7 even if I could barely stand from backpain or my stitches sting.

I know comparison is the thief of joy but I just can't help feeling sorry for myself for going through this especially during this time that I'm going through ppd and health anxiety. What if my stitches are actually ripping internally? But I just had my gp appointment and my stitches look okay and to just take paracetamol for the pain, that as long as I don't have any fever or bleeding I'm okay. I want to have an ultrasound scan just for my peace of mind but they don't simply give you that, do they? Anyone else felt the same but nothing's concerning? It's only that we have a slow recovery. I hope this is the case.

Just wanted to share

Today my daughter put her finger up and said ‘one second’ and went to pick up another toy 😂😂 I was in shock as this is the first time she’s done this just a big reminder of how quickly they grow up 🥹

Perineal massage

Hi ladies! I'm 35+3 and started doing perineal massage on Sunday (my husband is doing it for me). For those of you who have had children, did you do it and felt it benefited you?
