Mirena inserted at C-section

Today I've seen two posts about women who got pregnant shortly after birth and are freaking out. I'm doing a planned c-section and am about 90% certain I want to be one and done with this baby. I've had 3 mirenas and its worked great. The internet says they can put it in right after your c-section and that it is "safe and painless" but has a slightly higher risk of expulsion done then vrs at your 6 week checkup.

Which ladies have done this at which point? I have loved my mirenas but they have always hurt on insertion and for 24-48 hours after. Do they do it with the epidural still going? Do you skip the pain when your uterus is the size of a volley ball instead of a ping pong ball? What were your experiences?

Best to get it after 6 weeks and use something else in the meanwhile.I had it done at c section, they put it through the incision, but for me they forgot because the focused on stopping bleeding, so they basically had to insert it the usual way while I still had epidural. Unfortunately it moved, luckily was on back-up anyways till my pelvic exam 12 weeks later for cervical screening just to be sure. The nurse couldn't find it I had to go for a scan. Issue is when the uterus shrinks back it can move and they say it's rare like everything else, not so rare when it hapoens to you. Mine got embedded to my wall, it was so painful getting it out even on the strongest meds I had available. It was replaced at the same time the other was taken out. Anyways it caused issues so got it removed a few months back and on implant instead.

Is it safe to have sex after losing mucus plug?

We were planning on having sex tonight to try and get labour moving, but I've just lost quite a large amount of my mucus plug and maybe had a bloody show although I'm not entirely sure, it wasn't much blood.

Is it generally safe to have unprotected sex or is there a risk of infection?

Doula

Hello! I hired a doula at 5 weeks and I’m currently 31 weeks. I have not really connected with her and I have connected much more with my OBGYN.

I also recently found out she’s a Trump supporter which makes me concerned about her beliefs about women’s right to choose. This seems to be in direct conflict with what I believed Doula’s did (empowered women to be in control of their labors).

Has anyone had concerns about their doula in their third trimester and decided to go without. I have a super supportive husband who is a doctor at the hospital I’m delivering at. I also am hoping that my sister who lives abroad can make the delivery. I feel like with the two of them, I won’t need to doula. I just feel like after all this time with her, it’s strange we are still not comfortable with each other.

I’d love to hear folks thoughts. This is not an invitation to argue about politics. If you are a Trump supporter just keep it moving.
