Can anyone please share what they did when they tested positive? I’m devastated, I was planning a physiological birth and they told me if I’m positive I have to get antibiotics and be induced. This is my last birth I really wanted it to be natural I wanted to avoid antibiotics altogether, I’m beyond myself can’t stop crying

Don’t beat yourself up. It’s so so common!

It’s not necessary to be induced, they prefer it to make sure Bub is 100% safe, I was positive as well but went into labour naturally so they couldn’t do until Bub was out, he spent a few days on antibiotics but was fine (from that aspect) after 24hrs.
Don’t beat yourself up too much hun, I know it’s scary but however it goes they have backups and I hope that makes you feel a little bit better 💜

I had it with my last baby, I ended up getting induced due to bloody pressure.
I was told I could go natural but as long as I got the antibiotics in time but also due to me having fast labour, my 2nd baby was 45 minutes.. we planned a safe and calm experience. In the end no regrets but don’t worry too much!

It’s very common! I had it last year. They will put you on antibiotics

You don't need the antibiotics, don't let them pressure or force you into something you don't want - I tested positive for my second pregnancy (never got tested for my first) and didn't take the antibiotics. It's a 0.5% chance of baby getting gbs and if baby is born with amniotic sack in intact (waters haven't broken) then it's even less of a chance, and IF they do contract gbs, it can then be treated accordingly (you obviously have to be on top of it) but I wouldn't stress xx

Listen to the episode on GBS on the great birth rebellion podcast to learn the deets. I was positive with my 2nd kid but allergic to the antibiotics so couldn't do then anyways. Ended up continuing with my planned homebirth and just choosing to monitor bubs. He came out encaul so it wouldn't have mattered anyways.
