Help! How far along am I? Confused!

Hi everyone, I had my first period post miscarriage (which happened in January) start on March 2nd. I did ovulation tests here and there which all came back negative, then I got a positive one on 29th March, which is obviously super late ovulation. I was in hospital for something unrelated around the weekend of 14th March which is when I THINK I was ovulating, but obviously the test I did on 29th March was positive. I have an inkling the ovulation test actually picked up pregnancy, because I’ve just done a pregnancy test today, 9th April, which has come back positive! 🥲 or could it be that I’ve just picked up my pregnancy really early?

It’s really hard to say post miscarriage when ovulation occurs because it can throw our cycles out of whack for a while so I think right now it’s impossible to know. Once you have your first scan they should be able to date and get to the bottom of it. But I imagine they’ll scan you judging from your last period dates so hopefully not too long to find out. Congratulations 💕

Your test is still pretty light so you probably actually hit peak on the 29th, ovulated on the 30th, and are now 10dpo. If you were actually 26 dpo I’d expect a dye stealer. Your digital test also suggests that you ovulated 1-2 weeks ago which fits perfectly

Do you ever feel fully ready?

My son is 18 months old and I feel like I'm finally fully back to myself again.
I'd also like to have another child though, not too far apart in age, and I'm 35...

I was anxious for a lot of my pregnancy due to a previous miscarriage, and the birth of my son was pretty traumatic so the idea of diving back into all of that again is quite daunting.

Do you think I should just bite the bullet and did you ever feel 'fully' ready to try for your next child?

What are thoughts on “Free-Range Parenting”

Free-range parenting is a style that fosters independence, self-reliance, and resilience by allowing children age-appropriate freedom to explore, make decisions, and play without constant supervision. It prioritizes self-sufficient skill-building over high-risk fears, often allowing activities like walking to school alone, playing in parks unsupervised, or running errands.

Where does your parenting style fall on the spectrum?

Positive!

So we ttc for a couple of months after I was given the all ok from an operation of cyst and ovary removal, it wasn’t happening despite everything. We decided to give up and wouldn’t bother, we have 3 children. Then something in me just told me to test yesterday, so I did! I have never seen it so early, go so dark and show up so quickly! Roughly 4 weeks & 4 days. 3 days late for my period. Is it normal for it to be so dark this early???
