30min naps only

Hello,
Are you guys letting baby have only short naps? Have you been in situation when baby had only 4 x 30min naps a day?
I usually extend one to 1 or 1.5hrs and then 3x30min. Yesterday I couldn’t extend one nap due to lack of time etc (being out and about) and we have had terrible night / evening actually. His last nap ended at 5pm. We put him to bed at 7pm (wanted earlier but he didn’t want to fall asleep). He then woke up after half an hour. We managed to resettle him but then he kept waking up every 5-10min with arms going up and wide eyes open then crying (startle reflex or moro reflex). We have been trying for 2 hours to put him sleep and he just kept doing it and not letting himself sleep. I’ve decided to put swaddle back (arms) and I think that helped him fall asleep (even though he shouldn’t sleep with arms in as he is rolling already but I do have breathing device - no hate please).
Have you been in similar situation? What time did you put baby sleep? Guessing he was super tired that was the reason of the startle reflex?
Napper app told me to put him sleep even later… chat GPT advised 7pm 🤷‍♀️
Probably today will be similar day so I just want to prepare myself…

I like to try and aim for a 1.45-2hr wake window before bed as I feel like this helps her sleep longer but anymore then that she takes ages to go off and cries. For example 2 nights on holiday last week she wouldn’t have her 4th cat nap and she was up around 3 hours and it was a battle, I don’t really like to put her in bed before 7

She was a really short napper but now some days are 4 x 30 or occasionally she will have the odd hour or 45 mins it really varies

We usually have wake windows of 2 hour, sometimes 2.5-3 on the last wake window. She has 3 naps a day and they can range from 30mins to 1.5 hours, which I cap.

I’m sorry but does anyone else find it secretly satisfying when …

When you were the first of your friends to have kids and they low key fell out of your life, never supported you, and ghosted you a little and now they’re having their first pregnancy and they start reaching out for help and advice.

My friend just called crying because her parents called her fat at 25 weeks pregnant (she looks normal). She was obviously very upset and I let her know they were assholes and not to worry.
My parents did the same thing to me with my weight and non of my childless friends understood or gave a shit.

Unable to put breastfed baby down

My baby simply will not be put down anywhere. I literally can’t get anything done at home or even care for myself without somebody here helping. I can’t even go to the toilet. He is either sleeping my arms or awake crying .

I am sat on the sofa feeding him every 30 minutes. He falls asleep. I transfer and then awake again crying. Same viscous cycle. He won’t take a dummy. Does anybody have any advice 😭
I have a toddler that I also need to look after

I can still make breastmilk even years after giving birth. Is this common?

I have 1 child. I have not had any other pregnancies. And I can still lactate 2 and a half years later. He has been having whole milk since he was 1. But for whatever reason I can still make breast milk if I squeeze my breast. This is more so the case if its after I eat a lot. Is this common? I know I am not pregnant.

Bottles

My daughter is 7 months old - nearly 8 months. She still has a bottle every 3/4 hours (6oz) and she has 7oz for her bed time bottle. She still wakes once during the night for a feed to 🤷🏼‍♀️ she has breakfast and tea and then some fruit or yogurt or snack during the day, but she is still not massively interested in food yet - still very much draining her bottles. I’m not sure if this is normal or if I am doing the right thing 😫 she’s so different to my eldest who had dropped a bottle by now.

I worry about my age

I’m 39 and have a 4yo and am 33 weeks with my second. I’ll be 40 in September. And honestly, I’m kinda sad about it. I wish I’d started having babies earlier. I worry that when this baby turns 20, I’ll be 60. My parents are in their 60s now and they’re getting so much joy from being with their grandkids and I’m worried I’m not going to be too old to really enjoy them.

I love my husband, but sometimes I wish we’d found each other sooner and had babies earlier. IDK. I’m just feeling sad about the passage of time.

This will be a topic at my next therapy session lol

Thanks for letting me vent.
