How is everyone navigating taking care of your baby AND working remote? I had a friend sit for me while I had more meetings than typical but now I'm on my own. How do I concentrate and get enough work done during her playtime when she just wants me near? How are you all doing it.
My SIL said she just let her baby cry when she went to work after a couple months off but I don't want to do that. My daughter and I have built such a bond, I strive for emotional connection and trust.
How do I teach my daughter to play more independently? She does but not for long, she's teething right now

I work in their room and they are in a playpen right next to me so there's not much distance which I think let's them play for longer. When I can steal a moment, I give them attention. The only time I've had to let them cry is when they're going to sleep or waking up from sleep and for the most part I don't let them cry more than 5 min. Have they cried longer than that, yes, and it sucked but as soon as I could pick them back up I gave them as many cuddles as I could. I have definitely also latched them while working. I just tilt my camera upward and have my chin and above be in the frame and that's it.
Sometimes when I put them in the playpen in the morning they're a little fussy, I'll just play they're favorite Playlist and it soothes them enough that they get to it. If that doesn't immediately do the trick, I'll sing along looking at them first until their attentions veers away from me.

This is the reason why most employers don't let you work from home while also having a baby at home. Because you can't put 100% attention to your work. My son tends to play best independently when I'm not in view of him. You can't really teach independent play. You just have to allow them to try an independent play. Switch out their toys so there's something new.
Any mums give their 4 month old babies any food like puree or pouches?

I’m due to start potty training my daughter (finally) next week! She’s 2.5 years old. And I just need some tips cause I’m so nervous about it.
I’ve got some potty training underwear for her and some potties to put on each room and an extra seat for the toilet.
My house is carpet so I’m dreading this so much.
She used to tell me when we she needed to poo but the past few days she hasn’t?
Are there any tips to help it go smoothly and quickly(hopefully) since I was have a 3 month old to deal with.

My stepdaughter has ODD/ADHD and anxiety, and in the last few months she has become out of control. She has started to steal my 15 month olds diapers and using them at night because “she’s too lazy to get up”. Then hiding them in her room. She has started stealing anything and everything she can. She is in therapy, meets with psychiatry once a month. We are starting in home counseling, and they are recommending when she has anger outbursts to call 988 for a crisis team. Has anyone dealt with the stealing, lying, bathroom issues, misbehaving that comes with ODD and found something that works? Psych says creative punishments, but nothing is working ughhhhhh
