Potty training

I loosely followed the oh crap method. Go bare bum for the first few days and learn her cues and then go commando for as long as it takes to be reliably dry. Then add pants, they feel too much like a nappy to begin with.

I wouldn’t bother with training underwear personally!

I potty trained with a small baby too, it’s harder (we’d tried once before) but not impossible.

We started when we had a 5 day break from nursery and clubs x

We went naked waist down. Sat on the potty every 45 mins. Also had a step up seat to the big toilet. Started in the house for a few days. No nappies unless at night time. Day 3 (or when they are ready) we went to knickers, didn’t do any training pants, then day 4 we did put bottoms on as we had to go out in the car. She took to it really well luckily. Only short car journeys at the start. If they have an accident on the floor/sofa etc try not to say ‘it’s ok’ say, ‘next time we do it on the potty’ if you say it’s ok they will think it’s fine to do so. We didn’t do a reward chart, but you could always think of doing one if you think that your child would benefit from that. Keep repeating ‘wee wee’ and ‘poo poo’ to them when they go to the potty etc. good luck!!
