Traumatic births experience

This is so random and late lol. But, idk if anyone else is like this. With my first baby I had a far more complicated birth, PPH, sepsis, AKI etc etc. But idk the birth didn’t really bother me at all after. Idk if it’s because I had a epidural that worked so well. So that took a bit of the negative memory away.

With my second my girl, I got induced with the pessary. I didn’t have and expectations I just wanted a epidural because it hurts loool. Anywyas with her I went from 4cm to birth of the placenta in 1 hour, no time for pain medicine. I had second degree tears and felt all the stitches. But had no complications at all.

But I found my second birth far more traumatic, because wtf was that. That hurt so bad, have flashbacks ahahahahah.

Anyone else found a unmedicated birth more traumatic? Or am I just weird 🤣

I had my baby completely natural if not gas and air which I stopped using when I started pushing as the midwife told me to try use it less and something in my head just told me F it let’s completely stop 😂 anyway, ended up with PPH, second degree tears, hematoma, I was so high as 8 people rushed in and started poking me with all sorts… honestly? I’d do it over and over again. I was so out of it I didn’t realise how bad it was. However my husband, who had never held a baby before our girl, was shoved in a corner holding her while he watched me bleed out and is forever traumatised 😂😂😂 on the flip side, I made many funny comments, no idea what pain killer they gave me but at some point while being stitched up, I asked the other midwife why she was shoving my placenta in her pocket (she was not. No idea why I said that) 🥲😂

I had an unmediated birth and just used gas and air and didn’t find it too bad

What I did find terrible was the stitching
I was in labour for 6 hours without anything and was fine (6am-12pm when she was born) they stitched the second degree tears up again with just gas and air and were done around 3:30

Half the length of my labour!

That was traumatic
I can’t really think about that part of the experience without crying and getting upset which is a shame as the rest of the birth was really good (except she did get stuck shoulder dystocia but it was resolved very quickly and I’m happy with that!)

I don’t know why they don’t give you anything stronger for the stitching

The numbing the was ok
But it wasn’t adequate for that length of time!

Both my births were unmedicated. The first was precipitous like yours and the second was slower. Definitely LOVED the slower birth and found the precipitous traumatic like WTFH was that? The second was pure bliss

Crazy hair tips

My little boy (white/black Caribbean) has almost two hair textures, he has quite loose soft curls at the front but then an almost Afro texture in the back which goes wild. I use the only curls products for kids (shampoo, conditioner, detangle spray and styler) but after he sleeps it just goes crazy. It’s super knotty at the back so he doesn’t tolerate any brushing/combing - I only just manage with a fight when it’s wet.

Any tips on handling the back section? Heavy products don’t seem to work well given how soft it is in the front.

Refusing nap at age2 help!

My little one is 2y 2m old. She has just all of a sudden stopped napping. Nursery told me they spend half hour with her and she won't sleep and same at home. I'm really worried nursery will stop trying. But she just will not settle down at all all of a sudden. Help please. It's way too early for her to drop the nap!

14 w/o slept for 15 hrs?

She’s 14 weeks. Yesterday we decided to try putting her to bed at 8pm (she usually just comes with us at around 10/11). So we bathed, boobed and transferred to bed by 8. We kept the room dark and she slept there for an hour before waking up. I then took her back with me but she continued sleeping until 11. Woke up at 11, had her nappy changed. All happy as can be. Then slept until 3. Breastfed. Nappy changed at 5. Breastfed. Slept until 7, breastfed. Still asleep now at 11am?

Is this normal? She’s still having wet nappies, feeding, etc. should I wake her? She started trying to roll to her front yesterday, so idk if she’s just tired from the workout 😅

Trike 1 year old winter

It’s my daughter birthday next week and I was thinking about getting her a trike I really like the little Dutch one but then I’m thinking would I actually use it because it’s nearly winter so she’ll be in her pram a lot with foot muff and we don’t seem to go out a lot in pram whilst she’s awake.

Opinions if you’ve got one do you use it or waste of money?

CMPA? (Photo)

My baby is really congested overnight. She’s always congested - but particularly more snorty after a bottle of Kendamil. She’s primarily breast fed with one bottle of formula a day in the afternoon. Her poops are also explosive and look like this. Does this look like CMPA, so sorry for the photo! Two first poops from two different mornings. Will add the second to the comments.

Night sleeps with a 4 day old

My baby girl is 4 days old today and for the past 2 days shes had 2 long night sleeps like 6/7 hours i know you are supposed to wake them up but i feed her extra throughout the day and before bed give her extra boob and when she wakes up asap, her weight looks good, like i know the whole point of waking up for the night feeds is to put on that extra weight but she is doing really well, plus it also helps me get the extra sleep as ive been really sleep deprived what do you think guys anyone else feel like this or is there a serious health issue with her sleeping this long throughout the night, we have her 5 day weigh in tomorrow maybe the nurse will tell me she is a lot bit maybe she will tell me she is okay im not too sure this is all so new to me 😁🙃
