This is my second pregnancy, i had pretty much no Braxton Hicks contractions my first pregnancy and this time im having them pretty much every day anytime I do something that requires bending over or lifting something from a squatting position. It also happens every time after and sometimes during sex and after and sometimes during my 20 minutes workout before bed. Should they really be happening that often?

What do Braxton hicks feel like? I’m not sure I had them with my first and not sure if I’ve been having them with my second at all (currently pregnant with my second)

Yes!! I thought it was just me, sometimes they actually are very uncomfortable! My first pregnancy I didn’t know I was having Braxton hicks because well, it was my first pregnancy. But, since this is my second I feel like I have them quite often…

I’m 24 weeks and I started feeling them a last week. It’s such a weird feeling, like a frozen spasm on all sides of my belly but just really mild. Feels like a tightening feeling. I was reading that it’s normal. I have been feeling it like 2-3x a day, except today (only felt it once). I usually feel it mid day on my walks.

With my first I know i had them but don't really remember what they felt like. I just remember they usually happened when I was walking around work. I don't remember when they started in my first pregnancy. I maybe have started having them now, I am almost 27 weeks.

I have Braxton Hicks all the time. It's very annoying. Not painful but I wish they would stop.

All the time! Sometimes will take a deep breath through it and then go about what I was doing — not painful just tightening!

I've been having them when I have coughing fits (I'm asthmatic) and so it just knocks me out for a couple minutes

With my first I had them every day from 16 weeks for like a week ish. Then it went to at least once a week till I was like 30 weeks (maybe longer). I would be in the fetal position in the shower trying to get my body to relax. It freaking suuuuuucked. I thought it meant I’d have my daughter sooner but nope. She came at 41 weeks and 3/5 days (can’t remember day count) lol
Thankfully none so far with this pregnancy!
I keep seeing posts/tiktoks/instagram reels saying late November babies are being born early like now early and for the last few days my braxton hicks have been terrible. I think I’m also leaking my mucus plug but not sure.

First ever pregnancy the baby was too big, this pregnancy the baby is too small
Last time I got induced and did labour til we reached 10 centimetres but the baby just didn't want to come out,
(at 42 weeks I might add)
so after pushing for so long and 2 doctors later
Emergency C-section it was... On the 25th of May 2025
This time I am hoping for a vbac but they want to induce me at 38weeks this weekend
(so 17 month difference)
because the baby seems to be growing smaller than usual, placenta blah blah blah
Hopefully I can push this baby out or am I being delusional? Lol any thoughts are welcome, I'm based in UK, London

Hey I’m 26 weeks pregnant with my first baby and have been going to the Royal Women’s for my appointments so far, but I have moved recently and now Sandringham is my closest hospital (only a 10 minute drive vs a 30 minute drive to the Women’s). I’m in two minds whether to transfer or not. I have a low risk pregnancy as it stands, but I just want to go to the hospital that will be the best and the best experience. My logic was Royal women may have more competent / skilled staff and can support in any scenario to keep going there. But I’ve also been given advice that Sandringham might be a calmer, more relaxed (less cattle-like) experience of a big hospital and potentially less people in a room post birth. I know being relaxed is so important to a birth experience and perhaps the shorter journey could make a big difference. I would love to hear from mothers who birthed at either regarding their experience (I also hear Sandringham recently switched management so not sure how that’s going). Also any tips on how important the 10 min vs 30 minute drive drive will be when it comes to the big day!
