My baby girl will be 6 months in a couple of months so I’m starting to think about solids and preparing for that.
Please drop any advice, books, apps or recommendations you have on solids and weaning.
We’re also going on a cruise when she’s 8 months olds so any advice on how to handle solids while travelling will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks mamas 😊.

Download the Solid Starts app. It’ll show you how to give foods in a safe manner (as in how to cut them and offer them to reduce choking risks). You don’t need to pay for the subscription to see this part.
I use an app called Baby Led Weaning also for recipe ideas. It was £3.99 and has hundreds of recipes for all meals including snacks for babies of 6months+
I also follow the creator on Instagram as she showcases the different meal ideas so you’re not endlessly searching.
No honey, added salt or sugar before 12 months x

Second vote for solid starts! I'd also say although baby will probably like sweet stuff better to start make sure you're giving a variety as much as possible. With allergens - introduce early and keep giving them. Don't just give peanut butter once, reactions often happen the 2nd time not 1st
If you're with P&O they do baby food jars if you ask in advance(I imagine other cruise lines would too), but I'd just see how yours is getting on by the time they're 8 months, you may find they're still just nibbling some broccoli every now and again, in which case just give them a bit of what you're having/pick up some things from the buffet. The kids menu is probably too much for most 8m olds but they have starters like hummus with crudités and pitta, soup, all sorts and if you're in the main dining room I'd bet they'd bring anything possible that you ask for, specialities less so but they'll do variations on the menu. I imagine it'll be similar on all cruise lines, they want to please and are happy to amend things
