I’m 23 weeks pregnant and I’ve been starting to worry a little about my bump and movement. I do feel the baby move, but sometimes it feels like there’s not much movement for a while and then it picks back up again. I’m also not sure if my bump looks as big as it “should” for this stage, which has me overthinking everything.
I’m a first-time mom, so honestly I don’t really know what’s normal and what’s not yet. I’m trying not to stress myself out, but it’s hard not to when you just want to make sure everything is okay.
For moms who’ve already had kids, was this normal for you around 23 weeks? Did movement come and go? And did you ever worry about your bump size? I’d really appreciate any advice or reassurance 🤍

First off congratulations to you mama!! Having a smaller bump is completely normal especially since it’s your first! And remember everyone shows differently. I was like this with my first then it suddenly popped out once i was closer to the third trimester, and with my second i had an anterior placenta so didn’t feel movements as much until i was further along, and even now im 22 weeks not sure where my placenta is but i feel baby moving around a bunch then it’ll stop and pick up again.

It's totally normal to feel movement and then none for a while. While we're up and about baby tends to be asleep and they wake up when we're resting. Myself for example I feel the baby move most in the morning before I get out of bed, when I'm on the couch in the evening, and when I'm going to sleep. Not much else the rest of the day. You can look into kick counting too, if you haven't already. And as far as the bump goes, there is no "normal." Everyone's body is different. If your provider says everything is good, then don't worry about it. That being said, if you're really worried about something or need reassurance, call your provider. Most will be happy to answer your questions and put your mind at ease
