I loved my induction. I was also induced at 38 weeks. I went to the hospital, I got the gel, and was able to go home for a few hours. We had brunch at a restaurant and I took a nap before going back and getting admitted. We watched a movie while I was labouring, cracking jokes with our nurses. It was beautiful.

I didn't want to go past 37 weeks. And from everything I heard they wouldn't let me anyways. So I was totally happy at 35 weeks my doctor telling me they don't want me going past 37 weeks and so I will be induced at 37 weeks. Totally happy with it.

Personally my birth wasn’t bad. The labor was & for that reason I’m not doing it again. I had coupling contractions But induction wasn’t like super bad or a horror story . I just wasn’t progressing as fast as they’d like me to and they were trying to force a c-section onto me. I didn’t get one at the end of it all though.

Mine was horrible

I refused it all the way through my pregnancy even though they wanted me to have baby by week 37, and I'm so glad I did, baby gained almost an extra whole pound before baby was born after I naturally went into labour at 41 weeks. Baby is super strong, I genuinely think those extra weeks in the safety of my body and getting all the extra time and healthy meals I was eating helped massively. Though listen to your body and motherly instincts, they are your best bet. I know I'm glad I followed mine and let baby, my body and instincts guide us.

I was induced at 38 weeks because of severe preeclampsia. They tried 2 doses of cytotec first but I didn't dilate enough. Then they gave me the pitocin. I got an epidural prior to pitocin so I didn't feel the extreme contractions that they said you'll feel if you get that medication.

If you'll get the pitocin, I recommend you get the epidural first. You'll be less stressed and you'll have enough energy to push when it's time. The nurses will let you know when to push. You'll feel the pressure but not the pain.

I got induced at 38 weeks and it was the smoothest labor and delivery. The pitocin contractions weren’t as bad as i thought. Everyone’s experience is different of course but the horror stories i heard scared me for no reason. Pushed for 9 minutes and didn’t tear! I’d do it all over again!

I just had one at 39 weeks and 3 days honestly best thing ever it was my first kid so definitely was nervous but I did the balloon and pill got me from a 1cm to almost 5 in less than four hours went straight to pitocin I was crying off of just the cramps from the balloon so I got pain meds in my iv and it worked so well when I got my epidural at 4 cm it was just to be prepared cause I still wasn’t feeling any pain I only felt pain at 8cm so they upped my epidural dose after that I was perfectly fine until delivery no pain just pressure took about 16 hrs over night all together but only pushed for 20 mins. I feel there’s not enough positive induction stories so definitely don’t just assume it’ll be horrible

Mine was awful. Was induced at 39+6 had my baby after emergency c section at 40+1 under general anaesthetic. Was told i was 4 cm when mived to delivery suite i was acc 2cm and they broke my waters. Ended up on epidural and when it came to my section they couldnt numb me

I also had to get induced at 38weeks due to preeclampsia. The pooping of the water wasn’t my fav, a bit uncomfortable. Definitely didn’t like the catheter. Labored for 36hrs, pushed for 3hrs. Took to long because contractions started to spread out and baby’s heart rate was dropping. So blessed I didn’t have to have a c section. Worst part of my labor was the fact it was back labor. Had to get a full second dose of epidural to feel it at all. Next time will definitely be getting epidural first as other moms have mentioned here.
