I had my 20 week scan yesterday and everything looked perfect apart from the baby's stomach was measuring a bit bigger than expected. Has anyone else had this and what did it mean? They have told me not to worry and that because I already have a gestational diabetes test in June they don't need to book one.

My baby’s tummy was measuring 95th centile but they said it was within the normal range. I have a GD test booked too, but my last baby also had a big tummy through the second half of my pregnancy, no GD! Sometimes it can just be that baby needed a wee at the point of scanning so their tummy was bigger x

They said my daughters stomach measured big on every single scan I had. I had 1 at 35 weeks and they said the same again and that she would be “cuddly” she was born at 36+5 completely in proportion and perfect. Honestly don’t stress about it.
They take in a lot of amniotic fluid which can change the measurements a lot

I’m not from this group but this happened to me around the same time also. I had to have two GD tests one at the hospital and a home kit, I didnt have GD and they sent me for further scans. For the remainder of the pregnancy they measured it and said it was big but when my little girl was born (dec24) she was tiny and so was her tummy. She weighed 6 lb 11. Measurements can often at times be so out, its nothing to worry about though

Don't worry - the scans can be inaccurate. I was told my baby had a "chubby belly" and the lady doing the scan said "I've said that a lot today"... made me think it was more her than the babies tbh. Everyone ive spoken to who had growth scans and were told their baby was big or small was absolutely normal when they delivered x
Thanks ladies, definitely makes me feel more reassured! They've not said about follow up scans or anything so I think I'll just see how it goes and not read too much into it!x
