Hello! Stupid question but need an answer - I'm applying for my babys first passport and its asking if he had names previous to his given name. Before he was registered, he had my last name and was on everything as 'master lastname' or 'baby lastname'. Now hes registered, I gave him his dad's last name (we're unmarried). Are they wanting this name too? Or do i just say no. Thanks!

Just say no! They’re standard questions for passport renewal or a new passport so would be if someone’s changed their name.

Any names before they are registered don't count no? Registration is their formal registered name, before that you could literally call them baked beans, it's not the name you gave at registration

it doesn't really matter. this question is in case there are flags about a person under a different name, so they can check all names. since they won't have those flags it doesn't really matter. you can include the old name if you want but it's not necessary especially since it was before registration.
