Hey mamas, my baby is 6 months next week he knows how to roll to his belly and roll back to his back during tummy time or when I leave him on his playmat. He is now rolling to his side in his sleep. I'm abit worried thinking it may block his airways when he sleeps and maybe gradually he will roll onto his belly. Did your babies do the same? Did you roll them back to their backs to sleep? I read online that it is usually safe for them to sleep on their side or their belly's as babies can roll now and will move if their airways are disrupted but I am still worried. Not sure what to do. It's giving me anxiety and I'm scared to sleep too long incase he has rolled onto his belly or his side. I've brought myself an owlet sock just for a peace of mind!

We played the game of flipping him back for a while but it ended up waking him up so much and he was a terrible sleeper anyway. Our hv said once they can roll both ways you should still put them down for sleep on their back but it’s fine if they roll on their own. I remember it being so scary though

At that age, he should be able to lift his head and turn it to both sides, so try not to worry too much. Just make sure the cot is clear—no toys or anything that could be a hazard.
All my babies have slept on their tummies from day two, and it worked well for us. They developed strong head control and could turn easily. I also found they managed spit-up better in that position, as it would come out rather than causing them to gag.
