Has anyone actually had success with DBA?
My LO is 3.5 months (15 weeks). I currently rock or wear him to sleep, & we co-sleep overnight (he usually has one wake overnight). He used to be able to do around 30 minutes in his crib for nap 1 once in a deep sleep, but lately he jolts awake repeatedly during transfers.
Whenever I try DBA, his eyes open straight away & he seems fully awake with no intention of going back to sleep, even with soothing.
He’s generally a very calm baby; just really struggles with transferring to a separate sleep space.
Would love to hear any advice or similar experiences! 🖤🌙

Hi there, my daughter is 4 months old and I’m new to the drowsy but awake method. I started this week with just one nap a day, usually the first or second nap is what I aim for when attempting DBA. Day 1 cried for 25 minutes before settling, even with shushing, bottom pats and back rubs. I’m on Day 5 now and it’s about 10-15 minutes before she settles. Some progress but next week we will increase to 2 naps and so on for the weeks to come. Until she can self soothe 🤞🏾My tip would be even if they seem awake upon being drowsy just stick with it for 15-30 minutes. This is new to them since they are so dependent on us soothing them for sleep. As long as you are near to help soothe them they will eventually fall asleep.
