I thought the pushing stage was supposed to be quick so baby didn't get too stressed or stuck.
I pushed my 2nd for literally 10 minutes and they were already telling me baby was tired and I had to push harder. 🙃
But I just saw a video of a lady saying she pushed for 3 hours? Does it just depend on how baby is coping?

2.5 hours but I don’t think they usually allow so long. Babys head was in the 98th percentile, it took a lot of work

I guess you have no choice?! 🤣 I pushed for 2 hours and I remember saying surely she's almost out now. X

Some babies definitely handle labor & pushing better than others but they typically try not to let it go on too long. It’s always best to labor down & push when you feel ready, not just because a doctor says you should because you’re fully dilated. Obviously this is easier said than done when many women have a working epidural.

My midwife allows 1st time moms to push for up to 4 hours as long as the baby is coping well.

All mine were back to back so everytime I stopped pushing they'd go back in. It was exhausting

Mine was 1 hour. In Scotland your advised not to push more than an hour or else they’ll start considering intervention as babies usually get distressed being down there for so long x
