Huckleberry app

Is anyone really following the huckleberry app sleep suggestions and is it working for you?
My baby is 9 weeks old and I just want to know if i should try it or not… monitoring wake windows and all that can be overwhelming especially when you’re sleep deprived… should I just follow baby’s cues and forget about apps?. TIA!

Following baby’s cues is definitely the way.

I agree with Lottie, if I was to do huckeberry I think it’d get obsessed and that’s unhealthy.
Baby cues are so obvious the more you get to know your baby x

It wasn’t until our daughter was a bit older (more like 3/4 months) that we started to see much more of a pattern in length of wake windows. It was my husband who noticed that we were basically always starting a sleep at 2hrs15. This then helped us to spot her cues better.

If you’re not the type to get too obsessed over it, entering the info could help you spot a pattern later on. 9 years weeks is still very young, so don’t worry if the timings vary each day.

Oh thank you so much ladies… following baby’s cues it is!

Honestly? Don’t use it for wake windows until you’re past 3 months. By all means use the timer to track feeds/ bottles and poos as needed. But I let that app stress me tf out sleepwise and I regret it completely.

I use huckleberry but I don't use the sweet spot feature for naps, when I had the free trial I found it so unhelpful to be told my baby should be sleeping when he was wide awake 😂 But I do use the app to keep an eye on how long he has slept and the length of time between naps. For me it is easier than keeping track in my head. It is so personal though, you should do what suits you and your baby best.

I did follow it a little to help when we were going through some regressions and fighting sleep periods, but that was 6months plus after little one settled into their own routine, until then it was just following baby’s cues

I mostly use it for nappies and feeding and timing length of sleep

Im not sure what point I started it, maybe 3 months? but i found it helped so much as i was too overwhelmed to understand the cues until it was too late. Everything got a lot better for me when I started using it but equally I did recommend it to others who said it didn't help

I follow baby’s cues but use the app ‘baby tracker’ just for peace of mind really. I track her sleep so I can keep an eye on what her pattern generally looks like and if theres any major changes.
Im not sure how Huckleberry works but I wouldn’t use an app that tells me when it’s nap time. If it’s getting towards the end of her usual wake window time then I’ll keep an extra eye out for sleepy cues x

How do you still breastfeed baby if she’s on 3 solid meals a day??

My little girl is 6 months tomorrow and we did start her early (no comments on that please because it’s not helpful). She’s doing really well eating her solids and currently has one in the morning and one in the evening but I think she’ll be ready for 3 solids but not sure how to do it so that she is still mostly breastfed? She’s had baby rice this morning with some water and then gone to sleep so I’m feeling quite bad now because I don’t want her to not be mostly breastfed

Anyone else completely burned out????

I am so close to losing it. My baby is 9 weeks and she is the cutest sweetest baby and I genuinely think I’m very lucky because she’s really not that difficult (and everyone keeps telling me this and I agree) yet I’m still so overwhelmed and burned out. At week 6 she started only wanting contact naps during the day, fine I did this. She doesn’t like to be babyworn I need to hold her and sit. Now at weeks 9 just a regular contact nap is not enough, she only settles when I hold her and jump through hoops, make saltos, bounce, swing, whatever freaking movement exists she wants that otherwise she won’t sleep. My body can’t take this anymore and if I don’t do this she doesn’t sleep and gets all crazy. They said it would het better by week 8 but it’s only getting worse - I feel like such a bad mum because I can’t even deal with one baby. HOW DO YOU MUMS DO THIS WITH MORE KIDS?? I respect you so much!!!! I want 4 kids but I can’t even handle 1. Anyway that’s all for now. And yes she feeds well, is not colic, has not a lot of gas discomfort so that’s all okay, sleeps well at night and my husband is the best and supportive help when he’s home from work. Yet I still can’t manage. Great.

Baby struggling to poop

Hi guys,

(To preface this, we are taking him to the Drs today)
My baby is 2 weeks old and formula fed and for the last week, he has really struggled to poop.
He's passing some really hard paler yellow stools. Once he passes these, he seems to be able to get less formed stools out but it's still more formed than it should be at his age.
He's constantly straining, grunting and trying to go and none of the methods like cycling his legs, etc seem to work.

Have any of you come across this before?
What worked/what was the cause in the end?

From,
A Mam that just wants her baby to poop comfortably 🥺

Nesting Phase 🥰

Hey mamas! 💕
What were the baby items you actually used the MOST? Trying to finish my registry and don't wanna miss the essentials. Thank you! 🤍

Health visitor home visit

Just got a letter through saying we have a health visitor home visit around 3/4 weeks before my due date. Didn't have this when I had my son 3.5 years ago? Has anyone else ever had one? What do they generally talk about?
At least it's giving me the kick up the bum to nest and get everything out the loft ready 😂
