Routines

Does anyone else NOT have a night time (or even day time) routine, and just pure winging it?

My baby is 14 weeks and we absolutely have no routine, but he has no feeds after his 11.30pm feed until around 8am, which sound lush, but he struggles with wind still so he’s up (and I am) 80% of the night with wind issues. However, I don’t even know where to start with a night time routine, as he doesn’t sleep well through the day, so when he’s asleep in the evening, I don’t want to disrupt him to start a night routine when he’s likely to be woken up annoyed, as he is always in a state of over tired ness

Any advice? Should I implement something or let the poor boy SLEEP😅

We don’t have much of a routine/ just a small dunk in warm water to help tummy aches (try to do every night but usually every other) fresh onesie, sleep bag, white noise, feed & sometimes a book if i remember. I mainly have white noise and sleep bag as only at bedtime so she knows

My baby is 15 weeks and we don’t have a routine I literally just go by sleep cues etc, I don’t bath her every night? 3/4 times a week? She had been falling asleep between 7:30-8pm but last few nights it’s been more like 9/9:30 which I don’t have a problem with, I just let her nap and wake up in the day when she wants, and I breastfeed and co sleep, id say no 2 nights are the same with times, but she wakes up, I feed her and we sleep🤷‍♀️ so yeah literally no routine, I don’t track any naps or anything either, not sure if I should be or should be in a routine but why fix something if it’s not broken xx

We are winging it for everything. With my first I was so stressed and obsessed with consistency and routines I was going mad. By 6 months or so she'd settled into a routine of some sort by herself. This time I am enjoying baby bubs without pressuring myself 😂

Was the nursery carer wrong for saying this?

My baby is starting nursery (she’s 13 months). Today was her first settling in hour. My baby has CMPA and we are working on introducing dairy to her with a dietician. For now she can’t have cows milk. She’s still breastfed. They said she can have oatmilk with breakfast and I’m happy with this as we do this at home too. However they also offer them milk to drink and I said I’m happy to provide breastmilk. The manager emailed me about it earlier and said it’s fine as long as it’s clearly labeled. The nursery worker seemed not keen and said she can drink oat milk and she can have breastmilk at home. Is it just me or was that comment wrong?

Infant in front seat?

Looking for advice, I have to drive 2 hours with just me and my infant and I’m worried if he gets unsettled in back of car that I won’t be able to tend to him but also anxious of putting him in front seat. Has anyone ever travelled with infant in front seat and has any advice on the subject? TIA ❤️

Haven holiday travel cot

Has anyone use one of the travel cots provided on a Haven holiday? We go away next week and they say the mattress isn't provided with the cot. Wondering if I need to buy a mattress or if they're comfortable enough that if they've got the base board thing that I could bring a couple blankets and a fitted sheet to pop over the top?

Introducing a bottle to breastfed baby - how much milk to give?

My baby is 5 weeks old and is exclusively breastfed. She latches well and is gaining weight well so feel like we've established breastfeeding. I'd like to start introducing a bottle of expressed breastmilk once a day so that my husband can do one feed in the evening so that I can get a longer stretch of sleep to get me through the night. I've got a hakka to catch milk from the other breast while feeding during the day but have no idea how much milk my baby will need for one feed! How much expressed milk should I be giving roughly? Also any tips about introducing a bottle?
