Introducing a bottle to breastfed baby - how much milk to give?

My baby is 5 weeks old and is exclusively breastfed. She latches well and is gaining weight well so feel like we've established breastfeeding. I'd like to start introducing a bottle of expressed breastmilk once a day so that my husband can do one feed in the evening so that I can get a longer stretch of sleep to get me through the night. I've got a hakka to catch milk from the other breast while feeding during the day but have no idea how much milk my baby will need for one feed! How much expressed milk should I be giving roughly? Also any tips about introducing a bottle?

I did 4oz at 5 weeks when we introduced, we are 6 weeks now, she coped perfectly on 4oz, just go at your babies pace, it took her an hour to take the bottle because she was slightly unsure but she was settled and happy during the hour just on and off

I think with BF babies it varies as it does on the boob. Sometimes it can be 2oz, 4oz, 1.5oz etc but its super important to pace feed. Lots of videos on TT and YT.

We didn't and then my son went off the breast, it was really stressful getting him back on the breast. Pace feeding mimics BF and the baby controls the pace of the milk and how much milk they have thats why the amount of milk really does vary. Generally 2-4oz though

My baby has reflux so we’ve had to introduce a night time bottle and he has 4oz with Gaviscon and he’s 4 weeks old.

We started with just 3oz and he was still hungry and wanted boob so we upped to 4oz and seems to settle on that.

It’s trial and error, the first couple of nights he needed to be breast fed for 5 minutes after a bottle till we got the measurements right

Formula

My baby is 11 days old, has colic and reflux 🫠😭

He’s currently on Kendamil formula (I had to stop BF for health reasons) and I just don’t think it’s doing a lot for him….

He’s on 120ml at the moment and will happily take this amount but the spit up is constant; even hours after feeding and after being upright for half hour after feeds. He’s a healthy weight and HV is happy with his progress.

He’s on infacol drops as recommended by HV but he’s still really gassy etc.

Would any of you recommend other formulas? Some people are telling me to switch to cow and gate colic others saying aptamil anti reflux 😩

Just wanna make sure if we’re going to switch formulas, that its the right one for him??????? Any recommendations welcome 🤍

when to change the pram?

my son only turned 3 months yesterday but he is SO nosey. he falls asleep in the car a lot so i tend to just use the car seat instead of the bassinet. but when he wakes up he cries unless i take him out and carry him. and then he’s all up in everyone’s business😂 the seat unit for my pram does say it can be used from birth as it can lie flat, but i was hoping for him to be sitting up by the time i changed him over to that, and a bit bigger- he’s on the 25th centile, 12lbs 13oz as of yesterday. he holds his head up all the time now so i’m slightly less concerned in that sense. what age did everyone change their babies from the bassinet to the seat unit? and if i had him facing me would that be enough for him to still be able to look around, or would he be better off world facing? i’m just mindful that he’s still very young, but i’m a first time mum so i want to know everyone’s experiences and advice!

Humping

I’m a SAHM and my son has never been exposed to anything let’s just start there. He is semi- verbal autistic and 2 years old. Whenever he gets sleepy he starts humping. Why? Anyone else?

Peeing in the shower...

We have one bathroom. My husband wants to come in the bathroom, while I am actively using the toilet, and pee in the shower so he doesn't have to wait. His argument, "it goes to the same place and I turned the water on the rinse it down." I said there is still splatter and I feel thats icky. So tell me..

Sleep training

Would you leave your baby alone for an hour in the middle of the day to “figure it out” ??

Is sleep training neglectful?

How beautiful must be

To have a baby that at 21 months sleeps nicely through the night and wakes up at a decent time (7am would be already a good time)?
I cannot stop thinking how being it must be for the parents of those babies who are now finally sleeping through the night and not waking up before 6am.

I’m so so done with the night awakenings and early rise and a grumpy baby since the time he opens his eyes
