buying stroller

I’m unsure about which stroller to get for a newborn. I’d also like to know whether it’s worth buying a travel system that includes a car seat and bassinet.

Is it okay to just use a car seat stroller and then switch to a regular stroller when the baby is older, instead of also buying a bassinet ? Or is it better to buy a full bundle that includes the stroller, car seat, and bassinet?

Also at what age do they stop using the car seat stroller and the bassinet and go onto the normal stroller?

Babies should only be in car seats for short periods of time. It’s not recommended to use the car seat as a stroller. Although you can get car seats that lay flat (such as the cybex cloud and the new maxi cosi pebble) which can be used for longer periods. The bassinet will last until approximately 6 months depending on the size of baby. Personally I’ve always brought a travel system with car seat, bassinet and stroller/seat unit.

We also got a travel system, the Joie from Smyths toys. The car seat can lay flat but we only use it for a short period of time or will bring the bassinet for a longer period of time

We have the nuna triv bundle it’s a good weight and size to fit in my mini! We did buy the bassinet and it was definitely useful for us however the actual stroller is lie flat so it can be used from birth if your open to that!

FTM and we got a full travel system as baby can only be in car seat for a short amount of time. If it’s your first would definitely recommend going into any store local to you if you can, we had a great experience with John Lewis booked a ‘nursery advice’ appointment i found it so useful to see and try out all the different options, the staff were so helpful and really took the time to explain everything to us and give us as much info as possible. Plus they send you a discount code to get 10%-15% off pushchairs or anything baby/nursery related

Was the nursery carer wrong for saying this?

My baby is starting nursery (she’s 13 months). Today was her first settling in hour. My baby has CMPA and we are working on introducing dairy to her with a dietician. For now she can’t have cows milk. She’s still breastfed. They said she can have oatmilk with breakfast and I’m happy with this as we do this at home too. However they also offer them milk to drink and I said I’m happy to provide breastmilk. The manager emailed me about it earlier and said it’s fine as long as it’s clearly labeled. The nursery worker seemed not keen and said she can drink oat milk and she can have breastmilk at home. Is it just me or was that comment wrong?

Early walking and head bumps

My son is 9.5 months has been crawling for the last few days and is also loving pulling up on furniture and he keeps falling into furniture he’s pulled up on. Or he falls back and bumps his head that way. It’s been 4 days and he’s had a head bump a day already and I’m with him each time just don’t catch him in time or he goes another direction. Is this just something that I just accept and try to reduce the risk as much as possible or are there other options?

Car seat question

I am 32 weeks pregnant and prepping hospital bags, I have written on my list don't forget the carseat! Which has made me think about the fact the carseat I have is just a buckle in one, not an isofix. It's got me wondering, how will the hospital go about it and is it something they'll be bothered by?
I do not drive nor does my partner so we didn't see the point of buying an isofix fancy car seat but I'm not sure how the hospital deals with them. It's fully safety tested and it's an i-size, R129 certified carseat and came as part of a travel system.
I suppose my question is will the hospital have a problem sending me home with my baby in that carseat?
Very random and probably a very stupid question but I'm now sat here over thinking this 😂😅
Picture for reference :)

Infant in front seat?

Looking for advice, I have to drive 2 hours with just me and my infant and I’m worried if he gets unsettled in back of car that I won’t be able to tend to him but also anxious of putting him in front seat. Has anyone ever travelled with infant in front seat and has any advice on the subject? TIA ❤️

Introducing a bottle to breastfed baby - how much milk to give?

My baby is 5 weeks old and is exclusively breastfed. She latches well and is gaining weight well so feel like we've established breastfeeding. I'd like to start introducing a bottle of expressed breastmilk once a day so that my husband can do one feed in the evening so that I can get a longer stretch of sleep to get me through the night. I've got a hakka to catch milk from the other breast while feeding during the day but have no idea how much milk my baby will need for one feed! How much expressed milk should I be giving roughly? Also any tips about introducing a bottle?
