Midwife waitlists

This is my first pregnancy and I am so excited. I’ve been reading the books downloaded the app and even submitted the waitlist form for daycare as I heard to apply as early as possible.
I only applied to one midwife group, and did so right after the positive test. Today I received an email that I have been placed on the waitlist. I never even considered that there would be waitlists for midwives. And I’m only just now realizing you have to apply to multiple in your area for the hope you will be accepted by one. 17000 woman stay on that waitlist per year in Ontario according to google and I am stressed.
I never wanted to go to an OB but I have now asked my family doctor for a referral as I know I’ll need the prenatal care.
I’m posting this so that if you didn’t know about the waitlists now you do and apply for all of them in your area. (If you get in to one, ensure you remove yourself from the other waitlists).
I’ve read that you have a chance of getting off the waitlist around week 13 as some woman discover they have multiples. Does anyone else have experience with this? I may just be worrying as I am a planner and I never considered not having a midwife.

C section care

Hi all,

I just had an unexpected c section. So haf no chance to prepare.

What’s the best care? When should I start sensitivity massage?

What creams are best? And which belt did you use?

Dates

Did dates help anyone with bringing on labour? I have started eating them and couldn’t do them by themselves so sharing a way I have found I can eat them….

⭐️ Put the dates in boiling water for 10 minutes and remove the skin and pip.

⭐️ Blend them down and add a large tablespoon of crunch biscoff

I managed to eat it all no problem 😂

New trend throwback 1st scan

As our May babies turn one, here’s a little throwback to my first scan.
29th November — only a week after finding out, and I was already 14 weeks + 5 days.
Didn’t even get a first trimester moment.
Now my tiny peanut is almost one and my heart can’t handle it.

Colostrum collecting

I’ve been collecting colostrum for two weeks now and it always causes a bit of cramping. Tonight the cramping it’s caused is so intense and really hurting. I’ve stopped collecting but have heard it can induce labour. Anyone had intense cramping after collection and not gone into labour? I’m 39 weeks so happy if it is labour just want to be prepared

Anomaly scan

I had a anomaly scan at 19+5 weeks and it shows head circumference 35% and Abdomen circumference 78%, I am worried about 78% AC, what should I do next? Sonographer didn’t say that they are worried.

First Mother’s Day disagreement

So, my boyfriend and I are planning to go out of town for his sisters prom on Saturday and Mother’s Day is on Sunday. When I mentioned that Mother’s Day is on Sunday he sis fit was great because then he could take us all out for a special day. I’m trying not to be unappreciative but I was really wanting to do something personal just me him and our daughter for my first Mother’s Day celebration:/ and he’s having a hard time seeing where I’m coming from.
Its nit only because it’s not really my family, I wouldn’t want a group celebration with my mom and sisters either. It’s simply that I wanted it to be special for my first Mother’s Day and again, something more personal.

Might end up doing something by myself and my daughter. I’m just kind of feeling lost with how to feel. I’m trying to be ok with just doing something with everyone but it’s not what I would ever choose for myself.
