am I in labor? 38 weeks 5 days first baby!!

hii!! this may be a little long but if you can help find out what's wrong please..it's gratefully appreciated. I started having contractions around 6 am this morning and they haven't stopped at all. not consistent... sometimes 6 min apart sometimes 10 but it has been happening all day and have gotten stronger. now at the point where it's getting hard to talk or move to be comfortable. I went to the hospital...they seemed very rude to me and honestly made me feel like I was just being dramatic. when she checked my cervix it didn't even feel uncomfortable like it usually does just like she put a finger up there and said I was only 1cm...which I've been since Monday as I know of. she didn't even tell me what percentage effaced I was which was weird but whatever. I left the hospital crying...the contractions got stronger but still not in the timing it needs to be. its getting stronger but not closer together. I get home and my mucus plug started to come out and the contractions just got worse and worse BUT STILL THE SAME PROBLEM. I took a shower and I felt a on and off leak happening. I didn't push it out it just felt like a little bit of pressure like I needed to pee kinda then a little gush. this happened twice but not a big gush and honestly it was just a little bit.i feel so tired but everytime I try and sleep the contractions start again. they still happen when I walk and honestly it feels worse...it's also just not in my stomach it is in my back too!! I've tried all 4s and standing up and laying on my side but nothing helps. I don't know if I'm being dramatic or if this is labor and I should go to another hospital....I just don't want to be sent home for nothing but I have to be dilated more then a 1....no way a one is this bad....if it is I have a worse problem on my hands!!! I'll post some pictures of the contraction times I've been getting. thank you so much for reading. if you can help...even better!!

I am so sorry you had a bad hospital experience. You're laboring but not active labor. Which is typically when you would want to be at the hospital. One thing that really helped me when I was in this stage was The Miles Circuit. They have videos of exactly how-to on tiktok. It was my labor and delivery nurse that told me to do it when I went in due to contractions. Her exact directions were to take some Tylenol pm, get a nap, do the circuit. The only other thing I did was using the stairs instead of curb walking. I was back at the hospital within 10 hours

Sounds like your water broke. If so, you should probably go back to the hospital because there is an increased risk of infection if you don't give birth within 24 hours after your water broke. Risk is still low (don't panic), but you should seek care soon. I was admitted to the hospital at just 3cm dilated and contractions weren't that painful or close together yet, but my water had already broken. Word of advice, don't take pitocin unless the doctor says it's necessary; the drug will help move labor along quicker, but it usually makes your contractions a lot worse and yours already sound pretty intense. Good luck!

Go to another hospital!!! If any amniotic fluid is leaking you’ll want to play it safe!

You should definitely go back dear or to another one as the first mommy stated. I was sent home that day before I had my baby and I was in so much pain. But that next day I literally seen my mucous plug come out and water broke a little. And I couldn’t take it anymore so I went again and they said I was about 4 5 cm once I got there. So you should most definitely go back or to another one. Please I say go to another one, you don’t want rude nurses it would make that beautiful experience bad my love. Please if you can try going to another place or ask for a different nurse. Remember you have a say on how you want things and how you would like! Don’t let them make you feel like you don’t have a say for you and your child.

Alcohol after c section

When did you lot start drinking alcohol again after c section? I’m 5 weeks pp from my c section and have an event tomorrow that involves alcohol, just wondering if it’s okay to drink bit or would it be wiser to wait a little longer. Would ask my midwife but I’ve been discharged so I can no longer get in contact with her.

NHS Letters for scans

I called up and changed my scan date on the 14th because I had limited availability. I then received a letter for the original appointment, dated before the phone call. I’ve not had a new letter with the new appointment on it and it’s tomorrow. Should I be worried it’s not gone through or is it standard to not send a letter since it was confirmed on the phone? I’m in Cornwall for context.

Moving from bassinet to stroller

Hi all - when are you moving your baby from the bassinet on the pram to the stroller version/stroller pram? My little one is 17 weeks and seems to always be straining to sit up (ab workout!) and doesn't sleep in the pram, I think partially due to reflux and hating lying flat but also he seems to be staring out and fascinated by the trees and light and shadows. He'll often just cry in frustration instead! Thanks!

Triage

Does anyone have similar experiences with triage? I was seen really quickly and observations ok but I’ve been here 4 hours and they won’t let me leave without seeing a dr even though I’m all ok. I get that emergencies come in etc but they just leave you in a side room for hours? Too pregnant for this 😩
