Family is pressurising us to have a birthday party but we really don’t see the point, no one will get to spend quality time with Time with the little one so planned to just have a nice day out with the three of us. Interested to see if parties for one year olds are the norm?

I feel you - I really didnt want to do anything but the grandparents invited themselves over (live in different countries) so now we are kind of forced to. We will just go to a nearby farm that has a cafe, that way the kid will enjoy it and we can all have a cake and a coffee so the grandparents will feel like its special 🤷🏽♀️ the most important thing for me was to do something my baby will actually enjoy and not cater to the family, and this felt like a good compromise. We will likely also invite a few people who have kids and then itll be nice for them and the adults 🤷🏽♀️ i wouldnt do an actually party though, quality time is the best thing ❤️

We’re having a bbq for people to pop in and out, not a massive thing but will have some banners and cupcakes

We are just having a picnic at home on the Saturday with grandparents and uncles (as not got any Aunties). Then when his actual birthday on the monday having a family day just 3 of us.
