Anyone else really struggling to collect any colostrum? I've tried all of the recommendations for it and watched several videos but just getting nothing. I'm worried as I'm due to go in for a c section on Friday ☹️

I could never collect any with my first and never bothered with my April baby.
I had an emergency c-section and lost 1.7l of blood a week ago so in theory my milk supply should have struggled but in fact on day 5 neither of my babies had lost more than part of an oz in weight and midwives were amazed.
What you can collect now means absolutely nothing for your journey don’t worry! ❤️

I’m in exactly the same position as you, tried a few times but got nothing. I’m also in for a c-section on Friday too. I’ve just decided not to put pressure on myself and hope all goes okay with milk supply after, a lot of things I’ve read seem to indicate there isn’t really a connection between them!
Hope all goes well on Friday!

I was really struggling and then used a manual pump literally just to start me off and then after that day by day I’ve been hand expressing more and more. It’s almost like I needed that little help starting out (note I am 39 weeks so full term and checked with midwife x)

Keep trying.
This is my second pregnancy and I only ever expressed like 0.1ml max from each side when I collect. I do it three times a day and even if it’s tiny amounts I collect it. Don’t let it worry you about breastfeeding I breastfed my first no problem even with only harvesting small quantities.
I feel like there’s a lot of pressure from people posting about collecting multiple mls from each side - which is great for them. But it really is okay to get none or tiny amounts also.
