I had my 8 week check last week and the dr mentioned contraception and did I want to go on combined pill again which I didn’t think I could if I was breastfeeding but she said I could? She also said I shouldn’t worry about it too much as breastfeeding is a natural contraceptive which I swear is wrong?? Don’t so many people get pregnant this way 😅

Breastfeeding can be a contraceptive it’s about 98% effective it’s called the LAM method
As breastfeeding suppresses the hormone needed to ovulate
This method is only true when baby is under 6 months and your exclusively breastfeeding
The combined pill can suppress your milk supply im not sure why your doctor recommended that one to you
The mini pill/progesterone only pill is more suitable for breastfeeding as it doesn’t contain estrogen
